Newly Banded :)

Hey everyone!

Newly banded as of yesterday!

Surgery went well. The worst part was being doped up and having to walk over & do x ray with a barium swallow. Gross. X ray showed a big air bubble that was very very uncomfortable. About an hour later or so while getting dressed to go home I threw up, which I think really helped get that air bubble to pass lol.

Before that, a strange thing happened. I swear I started to regain consciousness when they started to work on me in the operating room. I heard lots of voices, felt stuff on my stomach and I think I started moaning or mumbling or something. I very well could have been dreaming, but it seems SO real! LOL it didn't freak me out or anything. It didn't last very long and it was not painful. I'm pretty amused by it, actually.

I feel pretty good today. My abdomen is sore, and I think still a little gassy, but nothing too terribly bad. My ribs do hurt, but I think that's from sleeping while sitting up all night. Has anyone progressed to sleeping normally in bed yet? I plan on sleeping on the couch with all of my pillows again tonight.

I hope everything continues to go in the right direction as far as healing and I pray the same for everyone else!

Welcome to the other side! I stayed 1 night in the hospital and that was the only day I slept upright. I'm now 8 days post-op and can easily sleep on my side, though I haven't tried sleeping on my stomach yet ;)

Woke up a bit?

I don't think that was a dream. Who dreams or remembers dreams when knocked out? Especially one that happens to exactly coincide with what is happening in real life. Even if you're amused by it, I think you ought to make a little stink about it. It very well could be something an anesthesiologist needs his or her hand slapped for. Eeek!

Glad you're feeling pretty good. Congratulations on the banding!

Well, I finally slept on my back last night.. not propped up! It kinda hurt a little at first, stretching my body out like that, but it feels much better this morning. I think my muscles needed that. I slept nearly 12 hours waking up only a couple of times! Ahhh sleep!
