from band to sleeve

I was banded 12/29/10, and have had 2 fills and 1 unfill because I couldn't keep anything down. Well that was 2 weeks ago and since then I have been in pain. It started out just being sore around my port area. But now I have pain all over my left side of my stomache, my lower back and shoulder. And I fill bloated and gasy. The pain started slow and would come and go, but today it seems to be staying. When I get up in the am its gone but then slowly comes back as the day goes on. I think I will go into the ER tomorrow if I still feel this way. Otherwise I see my doctor on monday.Anyway has anyone else had this happen and what was it? The way I feel right now makes me want my band removed. I've been reading about the sleeve and thinking about seeing what the doc says about that if this pain don't stop. Has anyone else made the switch?

I had phrenic nerve pain since the day of surgery and, after 17 months, just had my band out this past Wednesday. My surgeon wanted to do a revision to the sleeve. I might've seriously considered it (may still) except I think I inadvertently discovered the source of my hunger. I decided to give it a couple months to see if I could do this on my own now that I don't have the hunger because, the truth is that if I can't control the desire to eat when the hunger is eliminated (basically what WLS does), then WLS won't help either.

You might check verticalsleevetalk.com and talk to the people there. There are quite a number of people who had the revision from band to sleeve.

I am so sorry to hear you are having trouble like this. The pain in your entire left side is worrisome. And the bloated feeling doesn't sound normal. None of this sounds normal after a simple fill. I'm not sure the ER will be very helpful unless they have a lapband person on call. I hope you do ok over the weekend until you get in to see your surgeon. Do you have a fever?

There are quite a few people who have switched over to the sleeve who still check in here at LBT.
