Carbonated drinks

Hey Banders

I'm just curious for the future. I was banded only 17 days ago, lost 22 pounds so far and feel great. Some people say no carbonated beverages, ever, some don't. Has anyone here had a beer with the band. I am curious as I do not want to try one if there is no one with a positive experience with the stuff. Please let me know as there is nothing like a small (really small now) steak and a cool beer in the summer

Thanx

I've been able to drink beer, champagne and soda without a problem. I have to drink it out of a glass though. Straight out of the bottle or can doesn't work. I think the glass gives it a chance to reduce the carbonation. I can only drink one, though. I may want a second beer, but there is no where to put it!!! My beer preference is to the heavier wheat beers (Blue Moon, BJ's Hefeweizen).

When you are ready, give it a try (maybe a sip of someone else's just to see how you do)! Good luck!

I was banded September 2009, and could not have carbonated drinks when my band was very tight. Otherwise, providing I leave a long gap after eating, I can drink diet soft drinks and have no problems. I was advised to only do this every now and again though as the bubbling can stretch the pouch. Hope this helps.

JUST WENT TO A SEMINAR WEEKEND PAST AND THAT WAS A TOPIC BEER AND SO FORTH ARE FINE BUT THEY HAVE CALORIES AND THATS WHY YOU TO BE MODERATE WITH IT AND FAR AS SODAS DIET SODA IS FINE IT DOES NOT BOTHER THAT BAND AT ALL
