I am on Medicare and was wondering what you paid out of pocket for your band and fills, etc. Most of it is covered, correct?

I still had to pay a little over $1,000. Medicare paid the rest $23,000+ was my total bill from start to finish.

I am not sure if medicare will pay for fills My sergeon did not charge me for the 4 fills he did.(under fluro) The other 2 fills were done local and she charges just $75. So I didn't have here submit it to medicare.

My doctor charges Medicare patients $2000 flat. If Medicare covers the surgery, the money goes to fills and aftercare. If Medicare does not cover, the money covers the entire surgery and fills are $50 each.

Medicare covered my surgery to the tune of $54,900. I say, good for the doctors for getting what they can. I now have $2000 worth of fills and aftercare. I should be set!
