I was wondering if insurances pay for band removal due to things like erosion. I was wondering because I was self pay banded in Mexico, and my insurance pays nothing for obesity related anything. I mean God fobid something like this happened to me, does insurance have to pay??

Obviously you'd have to ask your insurer, but in general if you had a medical emergency that required surgery it would be covered. The emergency isn't obesity-related, after all. If you're having something non-emergent done, like a port adjustment, that might not be covered.
