Board Changes...what have you found?

It's kind of fun finding things. The replies have the smilies to the side...and I love the Top 5 on the front page. What else have you all found?

And smilies all across the edit page and 20 pages of new posts?? Geez, I'll be here all day! Oh, that's not new...:(

Alex, for us very popular big mouths, how about more PM space? Mine gets filled up too fast, woe is me :P

I'm sure this is to save server space (which we are NOT being asked to pay for), so just live with it. It's easy to clear out your pm box in just a few clicks.

Also that whole, "do you want a confirmation" doesn't seem necessary, does it? I mean, we aren't the Kennedy family, we're just LBT. Do we really need to secure stuff we've sent, or confirmation that people read our PMs? Just a thought.

Now you can un-check the "request read receipt" box that was a default before. If you scroll down while composing a PM, you'll see "additonal options" under the composition box.

As for marking threads as read, you can do that from any screen where you see Quick Links. If you mark forums as read, everything will be considered "old" and only threads with new posts from that point forward will appear for you.

Huh? Do I gotta go to school for this? Can you explain more? Are you saying I can click something and never see a message again? Very cool if I can figure that one out.

Look at the top of this page, and click on Quick Links. You'll see one that says Mark Forums Read. Try that. :P

I miss the "Find all threads started by XXX" feature under usernames.

I found it...you have to go to the users Profile page...it doesn't show up on the drop down menu anymore, but it's there. Cool.

I think she may be some type of search or information feature? She's definately automated but still creepy. Alex, how do we put this poor girl to good use? If you type her name she just jumps on in and asks all kinds of questions. It's weird to be in there alone with her. LOL Oh, and if you type LOL, she'll say "I'm glad you thought that was funny" CREEPY!!!!

Alice was euthanized this evening. She was getting abusive and we had no other solution. My her bot soul rest in pieces

If you click on any users name next to their post you'll see this option....

Actually, I don't want more space, but I see no reason to why "sent" or "deleted" stuff needs to be stored. Also that whole, "do you want a confirmation" doesn't seem necessary, does it? Upped it from 100 to 250 ......

Alex, thanks for everything you do but what are you doing working on the site at 5 am on New Years day!!! We all appreciate it. Celeste

Up all night, eh? Thanks from me, too.

So sorry about Alice. It was fun, I'll miss her, but not that much. I think it was the right decision. :ermm

Okay, when I do the drop down menu on someone's user name, "find all posts" comes up, but you have to click on the profile and go to the page to find the "find all threads started by..." button. Which is fine, as long as it's still there and I know how to find it. It was kinda handy when it was on the drop down menu though.

Wow, do I have 250 PMs now, too? Or is that just our resident 5000+ posts big mouth? If anyone deserves it, she does!!! Going to my PM box now.

Thanks again, alex.

That's the only time I have to work on LBT ;-)

I spotted a Yahoo! Slurp Spider while viewing Who's Online. AND there were 5 pages of memebers and guests viewing. Is that a new record? Wow. Lot's of LBT activity...and more to come with the spider. I'm guessing it's the same thing as a Google Spider?

Yup, its similar to Googles spider. Thank you for pointing that out to me....spiders shouldn't be showing up as users. I've modified the forum and you won't be seeing Mrs. Slurp any longer.

Most users ever online was 188, 06-29-2005 at 09:20 AM. We'll get past that # in a few more months. We've been growing very quickly recently and I don't see things slowing down at all.

I don't see things slowing down at all.

No kidding. There were just two major articles about weight loss surgery that prominently featured banding, and I expect 2006/7 will see an explosion of banding in the U.S. (if the insurance industry comes around, that is).
