Shoulder Pain!!

Hi, I was banded 5 days ago, still have what feels like a "stitch" on my left side and today my shoulder started aching when I breathe deeply. Any advice??

It's still the gas pain. It seemed to take forever for it to go away fully (for me at least.) Just keep moving- walking as you are able. A heating pad on my shoulder helped as well. Some people swear by GasX, but I didn't notice a difference with it. It can't hurt to try (if your doc oks it.)

i got banded today and have the same thing! My nurse told me Gas X doesn't work (it's not made to work that way for us banders) and it's in ppl's heads. But i say "Hey if it works for ya, take it! I forgot to get any though, so I'll just suffer through...lol. Good Luck!!

Thanks alot. My shoulder pain went away but the pain under my left rib is still there and pissing me off!

I have had previous surgeries where they used gas, and it usually goes away in a couple of days. The rib area is probably sore because of the cutting/moving things around/port. If it doesn't go away soon, I'd call the doctor.

By the way, I love your screen name, even though I'm KathySoxFan (red sox fan). So tell me, are you a Mariano fan or are you 42 years old?

Hope you feel better soon. Us bandsters (I haven't been banded yet, am hoping for November) have to stick together despite our sports alliances!:(

Thanks Kathy, yes my "42" is dedicated to Mr. Rivera, who was one of the nicest people I ever had the pleasure of meeting. Thanks for your reply and good luck to you.
