I'm wondering if anyone has gone to Disney World recently and used a note from their surgeon to eat at the kids rate for the buffets?

There's a lapband card that states you've had the surgery and can only eat small portions. I'm not sure if your surgeon has it, but mine offered it. I don't dine out, so I don't have one personally and don't know if disney accepts it.

You may order from the kid's menu at most quick service and table service locations... but you will be limited to FRIED chicken strips, hamburgers, and PB&J sandwichs in most places. Stick to the adult menu to make sure you are picking healthier and smarter options.

The buffet price will most likely not be able to be changed. The reason is that the lower children's price is more aimed at the choices the children are expected to make from the buffet combined with the amount of food they are expected to eat... mac/cheese, chicken fingers, fried, etc.

You may ask for a Guest Service Manager to see if they may be able to provide a discount to the check for your medical situation; possibly 20% as a good gesture. We used to offer that when I worked there.

They may decide not to offer any compensation as we are free to enjoy the buffet for what we want. Not everybody with a regular size stomach goes to the buffet to pig out.

I will be there next week and will give you an official report when I ask myself.

Just call 407-WDW-DINE and ask. I'm sure they'll tell you everything you need to know.

Hubby and I are going in November and we're doing the deluxe dining plan. Thats only because each person cant do different dining plans and hubby wants to go to some dinner shows. Plus, he's not the one w/ the weight problem

My husband has several food allergies and they were awesome about accomodating his needs. I am sure this will be no different. Good luck!

Thanks for all of the information. I've read different things on the Disney posts. The official answer when you call www-dine is no, but others say that it depends on the restaurant. Have a great trip

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
