How long postop does it take to return to working out. I know you are supposed to walk immediately which is no problem.

How long did it take until it was OK to really push a cardio workout? Lifting weights? Doing ab work?

I wasn't allowed to lift anything over 20lbs (including my toddler!) for 3 weeks post op. I could handle cardio (more than just walking) about the same time frame. I'm not doing crunches yet, but that's because I'm having incision issues.

It might be different for others. My incision wasn't sewn shut, just glued shut (which came off 5 days post op). It was then an open wound which took a while to heal shut (the Dr said it was normal).

Different doctors give different advice.

I was ok'd for "whatever, as long as it doesn't hurt" at my two week post op.

I was told no lifting over 10 pounds for six weeks. Didn't ask specifically about working out, but assume it's the same timeframe.
