Surgery and Privacy Question

Every year I have a DOT physical that requires a chest x-ray. This is just for record incase anything happens to me over time, ex; exposures to asbesto's, carcinogens, ect.

Now when I go this year, and they see the band, do they notify the employer? Or since it is surgically installed, and not a "condition" is my privacy protected?

Not too worried, but Im just curious if that would be an invasion of privacy protected through HIPPA?

I am pretty sure that would be a violation of HPPA...I don't beleive they can legally do that...

I agree ..... if they told anyone it would be a HIPPA violation.

They will not reveal ANYTHING about your health that you do not authorize for release.
