JP drain question

I had a penniculutomy (TT) 3 weeks ago and today they took out one of my drains because it had slowed down enough; however, they left the other one in since it was still draining more then the 30 ml in 24hrs. Now, ever since leaving the doctors office the drain they left in has quit draining. Should I be concerned about this?

Ummm...it's a Jackson Pratt drain? I would def. call your surgeon. Also...have you ever had a JP drain removed? Congrats on your surgery! How was the removal of the other drains?

I wouldn't worry about the jp drain not draining a lot. I'd call your surgeon just to see what they think. I work at a hospital and I think if they removed the other one because it wasn't draining enough I'm sure they'll remove the other one soon if that one too isn't draining much more. Hope your surgery went well. Best of luck!
