fills

Does anyone have their family doctor do fills and if so does he/she charge you or just bill ohip for the visit?

I live in BC and any doctor doing fills charges. It is not covered by the medical service plan. I suspect OHIP is the same. Simply ask your GP for his thoughts.

I doubt seriously that I could ever get my GP to do a fill or even an emergency unfill since she knows I paid a fortune for my band and she doesn't want to be blamed for screwing it up. I would think a lot of GPs would feel the same way, regardless if OHIP would pay them or not.

Right on - insurance coverage for the medics is a big thing. Some colleges won't allow GPs to do a fill unless they have been trained.
