I am so scared..

So im sixteen years old and im considering getting the lapband surgery, but i have questions and i hope that people can answer them.

1) How long does it take until you can get the surgery?

2) Does the surgery leave scars on your stomach?

3) How long would it take to lose about 50 pounds?

Im so scared to get this surgery, my parents are supporting me and I dont want to tell me friends that I'm most likely going to get it. My appointment is on march 30 to talk to the surgeon about getting the operations. Does anyone have any tips for me? Thanks:)

Well I can answer some of your questions, how long it takes depends on if you are going to pay for it (about a month) or go through insurance (can be several months depending on the requirements)

I have 5 scars on my stomach, 4 of them are about an inch long and the other is about 2 inches. Once they fade in color they will not be noticeable. (It takes about a year for a scar to fade to regular skin color for my body)

I have lost 43 pounds and tomorrow is my 5 month anniversary, but my weight loss has slowed and I am only losing 1 pound a week now.

Good luck with your appointment. Keep us posted.
