When I investigated, about two years ago, the initial fee was close to $100 ($79? $89?) and there was a hefty monthly charge on top of that. It didn't seem like the best way to spend my money, when for close to the same amount I could get a whole-family membership at the Y.

I have been a part of Curves for over 3 years. It is WONDERFUL for people who are not used to working out & getting exercise. (That was me!) The people who go are people just like us!! I was never emberassed or felt like I was in a meat market. (You know how people want to dress to impress!) I loved it for the 3 years I participated. However, I reached a point where it wasn't enough & I needed a little more. I just recently ended my contract & joined a gym with a trainer & it has made all the difference. However, I wouldn't be here today if I hadn't of joined Curves & got my foot in the door to exercising again!!

Good Luck!!

I have had a Curves membership for 2 years. I plan to swtich soon, just for a little more variety, but it's a great workout if you're just starting an exercise program. I pay $29 a month (I think), which the automatically deduct from my account. If you choose not to have them automatically deduct it, it's a little more expensive, about $35. I did not pay anything up front and have never paid any fees outside of my monthly fee. I go 3x week and do a double routing, so an hour.

It is a good workout, but IMO the atmosphere is a little annoying. Their facility and products are heavily marketed and there's a lot of "rah rah" that goes on which I pesronally find annoying, but a lot of people there do seem to thrive on it. Ig you join, just go in knowing what you want out of it. :)

I am anti-Curves. The price is ok - 30 bucks per month (I signed up when they had a free sign up time) and you have to sign a yr contract. My problem with it was that your body gets used to the wrokout before the year is up and you never push yourself any harder and it stops working kind of. I quit exersizing for the year before I got my band and now I walk and increase distance and pace once a week. Your body needs to be pushed to get a good workout. WIth Curves you will just stay stagnant. Don't get me wrong - any workout is better than none, and Curves is fun, but if you are serious about it, You need a routine where you can mix it up and push yourself more or your body will just adapt and stay where it is. Curves offers no outlet for mixing up the routine.

I have been a curves member for the last year. I agree in the begining it seems like itis the right ticket. But you can never advance your routine. The last time that I went there was an elderly (70 or plus) in front of me with a walker doing the same routine as I was. It just not seem to give you the resistance or variability to do other things. I needed more of an areobic routine and joined a gym and worked out much better.

I don't know what Curves you all have been going to .but if you are not keeping up with your heart rate while you are working out you will not get the full workout. It is a great program.I f you keep up with it. I do agree it is not a social inviroment.NO MEN So if you need alot of people to get what you need the Y or somewhere else is better for you. But if you want a workout that works If done properly then Curves is a great workout. And they have alot of new things starting up this coming year look for it. And I like that where ever I go I can workout at any of there facilities. They will give you a free workout.Just call and ask.((SMILE))

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
