NOTHING will go down after Flu!

I have been banded since June of 2008 and have lost a little over 100 lbs. My current weight is 151 so I am very happy with my band. But here is my problem: In September I was too tight so I got an unfill... I have been extremely happy with the amount taken out but recently I got the flu and had alot of chest congestion which made me cough alot and swallow phlegm which caused me to slime and throw up more than normal esp in the middle of the night (I know gross right?!) and now NOTHING will go down not even liquids... do I need another unfill or will it go back to the way it was before? I have lost like 15 lbs in the last 3 weeks waiting for my band to go back to the way it was! I have a dr appt wednesday to get an unfill but Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks!

It may be that your band has slipped from the puking & coughing? Just a thought.. or you could just be swollen from the puking, and may just need to let it relax some. But if you aren't getting any liquids down dehydration will set in fast, not to mention with the flu you may be alittle dehydrated as it is. Goodluck & let us know what your Dr says.

Have you tried hot liquids like tea? I've had a few instances of dehydration from being sick or being really busy and not drinking, and I couldn't even get regular liquids down. Sipping some hot tea slowly helped loosen me up a bit, enough to start getting down other liquids--then I just had to keep drinking to get everything back to normal. Hot tea also usually helps soothe my band/pouch if I've PB'd a lot. Of course, everyone's different--hope you find something that helps!
