First Fill Today!

It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be....whew. I have an AP Standard 6cc band and she filled it a little over 2cc's. Not happy about Clear liquids today lol. My doctor gave me a cream that's called Lidoc/Priloc 2.5%Cre Sandoz which is generic for Emla Cream. Anyway it numbs the surface of the skin so my needle prick really didn't hurt. YAY

I was under fluoroscope and I was sat up so I could see my band on the screen. She had me drink a clear icky tasting barium so she could watch it go through the band and adjusted it till the liquid went through to a point with some restriction but not refluxing. It was over in about five minutes which made me so happy.

I just wanted to share with those who are maybe anticipating their first fill like I was. The numbing topical cream is a dream so you may want to ask your doctor if that's available.

*does a happy dance.

I had my first fill on Monday and then did 2 days of a liquid diet. That was tough! I was soo hungry. My doc will only put 1cc in each month. I have a 10cc band. Not feeling restriction yet, maybe next month.
