Supporting Newcomers

Recommended Posts

I come on to LBT sporadically and when I do I always spend a few minutes in the Introductions threads to welcome newcomers. I always try and pick the older threads that nobody has replied to yet.

When I first joined LBT it was after much lurking. I was shy and very new at forums, having never joined one before. I placed my first post in the Introductions site and waited a whole day and a half before I got an answer. LBT had many fewer members back then. I think if nobody had replied to my post I would have found it very difficult to begin participating on other threads.

What astounds me now is I can find old threads that have 50 or 60 views and NOBODY HAS REPLIED! Sometimes you can see that the member has made a few other posts somewhere, but more often than not this is their only post.

My hope is that we all remember that this forum is about support. Please, when you view an introductory post just take a few seconds and welcome that person. You never know what they'll go on to contribute.

I agree! I've noticed the same thing. I have posted things before and never gotten a response.

Makes you sort-of paranoid or something. LOL

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
