Removal in DR

I have been banded for 8 years now. I was banded in the UK - but for maybe the last 3 years - nothing but problems. I need to get my band removed but as i live in the Dominican Republic this is not easy or cheap !!! Please can someome tell me how long the op takes to remove the band and when my stomach will be normal again. My port is on my breastbone and my band seems to fill itself !!! Getting tighter and tighter all on its own. Please can someone advise.

Can you go to Mexico and have it removed? I know several people have recommended Dr. Aceeves(I think thats how you spell it) I think he will even remove your band and do the sleeve for 5k(USD).
