  1. So.... I had surgery on November 17, 2010.... not at all as bad as I expected it to be...took pain and anti-nausea medications first night... Didn't touch the stuff again after that, did pretty good with Tylenol Rapid Blast Liquid....Surgery went great according to surgeon...took about 45 minutes or so... had a little bit of nausea and moderate pain right after surgery, but by day two I was in Walmart...lol..... It's now a week out and I am feeling great, no nausea, no vomiting, gas is tons better and i am down, including pre-op diet and 1 week post-op, 30 lbs.... starting weight was 340, as of today weight is 310.....Now I am doing my second week diet with full liquids... going pretty good, no nausea or vomiting, I can tell the difference now in how much sooner I am satisfied...... I am so happy and so proud of myself.... still a little sore in the umbilical area, but nothing that stops me from doing anything.... post op follow up is next week, hope to be down to around 300 by then..... wish me luck!!!!!
  2. Had my EGD today...... got stuck four times, cause my veins wouldn't cooperate.... No sore throat, or pain besides the IV site.... I remember absolutely nothing from the actual procedure.. I remember the anesthesiologist giving me the sleepy juice like he called it, being wheeled to OR, putting mouth piece in and turning over on my side, then waking up about 10 min later....Hope surgery goes this well.....
  3. Hey..... I ill be banded on November 17th... at first i was like all go for it... but this past week I had a patient who had it done and although everything went well with surgery she apparently threw a DVT or PE and passed away abou three days after surgery... it seem she may have been having trouble breathing, laying around not doing much and using her CPAP machine day and night.... I still want to have the surgery and I am praying about it, but still a little nervous.... Are you scared at all???
