  1. Katie, Don't beat yourself up about it, just get back on track now that you are back to the real world. This time next week you will feel better. Take it one day and one meal at a time. Good Luck. Darla
  2. He put lots of fluid in at first so that I could feel the feeling of pressure as I took sips of water and then he took some out so I could feel it drain through. He kept making adjustments until he was satisfied with the tightness. It didn't hurt any more that a shot. Just when he first put the needle in and when he took it out. I could not feel it while he was filling. It was not bad at all!!!
  3. Since I'm still on liquids I only feel pressure when I take a sip. It only lasts for a few seconds. I guess till it all drains through. Not sure yet about restriction.
  4. Just a quick update - Panda and I received our first fills on Tuesday 5/1/07. Wasn't bad at all. We are on clear liquids for 2 days then full liquids for 2 days. So far, so good.
  5. Hello Everyone, Well Panda and I got our bands yesterday. We both got to go home last night. I had a hiatal hernia so I am having to deal with some pretty rough neck and shoulder pain. :omg: Dr says it is normal to have it after a hiatal hernia repair. I am staying medicated by the clock and using heating/vibrating pad today. Seems to be helping. Lots of walking too to get rid of gas. The pain from the banding itself is not too bad. :sick Just a quick update, talk to you later. Darla
  6. :girl_hug: Hello Everyone, I figured I had better get my last pre-surgery post in before I head off to church tonight. I have been on clear liquids since last evening. Not too bad so far. Had coffee this morning. Propel water and beef bouillon broth for lunch. Sugar free popcycles and sugar free jello for later, with water in between. Nothing after midnight. I am so ready for tomorrow. I pray that we all do well through surgery and have speedy recoveries. Hopefully I will be back home and posting again by this time tomorrow. Darla:clap2:
  7. Hello skinnysomeday, Good to see you on the band wagon. I'm scheduled for next Monday 4/2/07. Good luck to you! Darla
  8. Jennifur - I had surgery a couple of years ago and one of the best tricks that worked for me was - before surgery put a heavy duty armed chair beside your bed (I used a kitchen chair with arms). You can use the arm of the chair as a bed-rail to help you get up from or down into the bed. It worked wonderfully for me.
  9. lo Everyone, Just wanted to let you all know that I am still here. I went for pre-op yesterday and everything is on go. Waiting for 4/2/07. Total weight loss so far is 22 pounds. :speechles I have been very busy: Husband had surgery last week. All went well. Planning a wedding vow renewal. Getting married again on Saturday, to my best friend. We are renewing our vows for our 30th Anniversary. We did not have a church wedding the first time. We have been going to have a church ceremony for the last 30 years and are finally doing it. Then have lap-band surgery planned in a little over a week. Full schedule;) Things will calm down in a couple of weeks, I hope. Gotta go for now.
  10. Hello Floridagirl, I am from Jacksonville too. Actually grew up there, live in Callahan now. Getting banded on 4/2/07 along with my youngest daughter.

  13. I haven't read all the replies yet, and this is my first post, but I wanted to say hi to everyone. I just found out yesterday that I'm scheduled for april 2nd. (Found out today that my daughter is also going in the same day! We're going through this journey together - same doctor and everything). She just showed me how to do this computer thing. My older daughter is the one who introduced us to the Lapband about 3 years ago. The younger one who is being banded with me has been trying to get it approved since that time. The older one is working on it but is still happy that she inspired us. This site has been very informative for us. Hope to get to know you all better over time. Till next time, darla
