  1. Bob, Good for you getting started again. Glad you found a new job ypu like. You did it before, and you can do it again. Stop beating yourself up...the doctor has seen this before....you are not the only one. You are still a young man with a lot ahead of you. I hope you continue to make the best choices for yourself like you have been. Isn't it wonderful to have the chance to start over!!!!
  2. Hi Perkins, I was banded on the 12th of this month. Each day is better than the one before. Your doctor may have to take a little fluid out to make you comfortable. You should consider it. You don't want to feel miserable. My doctor does not put any fluid in for a month because of certain problems he has seen. The gas is past for me, and with no restriction I still have not been hungry. Had my first doctor visit on the 18th and had lost 7 pounds. Hope you begin to feel better. Ruthie
  3. Good luck to both of you tomorrow. I'm sure you will do well. My surgery is the next day.
  4. Hi Gran, I am 67 and getting the band next week. I feel like I am the oldest person on this board. I don't feel my age at all, and I am looking foward to my new life. I have made up my mind I will do everything I am told and not do it my way any more. I have already lost 25 pounds because my doctor has a dietitian who is trained in bariatrics. I feel so much better. I like the doctor and the whole staff is so helpful. Is there anyone close to my age who has had lap band and been sucessful?
  5. Hi, My doctor does not fill band until a month after surgery. I have my surgury Oct, 12th, go back in a week for a check up, then Nov. 8th the first fill. Wish I could have it filled at the time of the surgury, but I made up my mind this time I will not try to do it my way...that's part of what got me into this fix. Good luck to you.
  6. Hi, I am new to this forum. I have been planning this for several months. Saw the doctor in June of this year. Had to drop 20 pounds for insurance. I have lost 25. The date is set for Oct. 12th, and I am looking forward to it. My doctor is Scott Stowers in Decatur Tx. The surgery will be done in the hospital and I will stay one night. The progran is wonderful and the staff is very helpful. Just want to say good luck to everyone.
  7. I am getting my band Oct. 12th. Started this in June. I've lost 25 pounds, and it's been hard. Today I start my liquid diet. I am excited! Good luck to all.
  8. Hi all! I am getting my band Oct 12th. Started this journey in June. I had to loose 20 pounds first. It was hard and I didn't make it, but my doctor loked back in my records and saw that I lost 10 pounds before coming to him and used that. So all together I have lost 25. I am excited. I started the liquid diet today,,,just one week before. Good luck to everyone.
