Hi All! I went into my PCP's office in June. She told me that she thought I did not need surgical intervention. I have been able to drop pounds in the past, and she thought I would be fine to do it again. So, what she decided was to monitor my weight for three months. I went in for a referral ( I have a HMO plan) so when I heard that I needed to wait I was disappointed to say the least. I gained six pounds in that three months while I waited. I felt as if I was doomed to be this 300 pounds that I am. I never really planned to go back to the Dr's office. I was at work one day and my co -worker ( 1 year post op RNY) came to me and asked when my next appointment was. I told her how I felt and she encouraged me to try again. I did, and on Monday of this week I got the referral to Dr. Waldrep! I am so excited, fearful, anxious,  but most of all excited. I have my "Group Health" appointment next week. I will be able to take care of all of my pre- op testing on the same day and I am really hoping I can schedule the procedure before the end of the year. I have the advantage of working for my insurance company, so I will be covered in full! I only have to pay for my office visits. $30 that's it. I know my authorization will be approved, I know the requirements because I was trained  on them in the office. I hope their is nothing that I am overlooking. I have been reading all over the internet and I think I am making a very well informed decision in regards to the service. I need it. I really do. I need a lot of food to feel full and I am hoping this is the way. Ok well I am so excited I think I have said it all in one breath. Im not sure if I used any punctuation at all. LOL. Cant wait to get to know you all. I will be the one asking alllllll the questions. Bless.
