  1. I agree on the mobile site. The web site is driving me crazy with the ads on the right side of the screen. They are as big as billboards.
  2. Just before the site went down I received an invite to the Nov 2010 group. That invite is now gone ... any idea's on how to find the group now?
  3. I am on day 5 (surgery on the 19th) and I still have gas. I'm not taking anything for it ... just trying to tough it out. Day 3 my legs hurt bad in the calf area .. but that started to subside on day 4 and is gone today. I had some pain in the port area on and off .... but none today. My stomach growls (or howls) every once in a while but I don't feel hungry.
  4. IF you are successful with WW then IMO you don't need the band. IF you don't believe in WW even though you are losing maybe you need to get the band IF you think you can believe in it. From what I have read on this site you have to believe in your band or it will allow you to fail also.
  5. What are you eating that takes 20+ chews? I had my surgery on the 19th (2 days after you) and I am on a liquid diet ... with absolutely nothing to chew. You get a cup of what ... I have had SF Jello at the most and it slides between my teeth no chewing required. I am worried about getting my Protein. The
  6. Me too ... the site went down on my surgery day and I have been at a loss. How untimely for me.
  7. Today was my band day and I feel great ... arrived at 9 a.m. left surgical center at approximately 2 p.m. The doctor was running behind ... surgery was scheduled for 10 a.m. and I didn't receive anesthesia until approximately 11:45. My doctor is great but the anesthesiologist had the personality of a gnat. Recovering from the anesthesia was the most difficult part due to the gas ... but I feel really good now. I must have drank 4 oz of Water before leaving the surgical center and started drinking Gatorade once I got home. I am going to try to get the 20 oz bottle down if possible. I have been hanging on the couch with extra pillows and am taking pain meds on the schedule for today so I don't get any unnecessary pain. The only bad thing about the entire day was a 78 year old lady ran into my car while my daughter and sister went to Walmart while I was in surgery. I can't believe it but I didn't even get upset although I LOVE my Toyota Avalon. NO one was hurt and it is something I will worry about after next week. I have been walking 10 laps on my 40 foot deck every hour and have dozed off a couple of times while holding down the couch for an hour.
  8. My surgery is tomorrow also ... I didn't sleep very well last night I was up every 2 hours. So I suppose tonight I won't get a wink which should help me sleep after the surgery tomorrow. I have been wondering what my last real meal will be ... still undecided.
  9. I am a finicky eater and am a week from band date. Today I went shopping for my post-band diet food and I really don't feel I have very much. I got tomato juice, cranberry-apple juice, gator aid,

  11. Here is a link for the challenge: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0ApxUtutHkKeGdEhFVm5rcV9uWDZQTXZ6aXBieXNYdHc&hl=en&authkey=CN-MzokH
  12. I know how to format a spreadsheet but I have never seen one posted here. Can you give me a link to the one for halloween?
  13. I have told my supervisor I will probably be off for 7 work days but don't know if that is true or not. I see my surgeon on Monday Nov 1st and hoping I can get a better date from him. I am already scheduled to be off the week of Thanksgiving for vacation. I will be off a week right after surgery, return for a week, and be off another week. I sure am going to hate smelling that Thanksgiving dinner and be on a liquid diet ... haha. I guess I have to sacrifice something ...
  14. I went for my 6th PCP visit which was required for my surgery to get approved and I was 15 minutes late so the receptionist didn't want to see me. She asked the doctor and the doctor said it was OK. When I went to get weighed by the nurse I told her what happened and asked what is the difference if I am 15 minutes late ... they always keep me in the stupid room for at least 45 minutes everytime. I don't know how they figure their time is more valuable than mine.
  15. I have been lurking around here since I got my surgery date last week. I am anxious and scared at the same time. My date is November 11th ... too many questions!
  16. I think the program fees are a rip off. It is like selling you a car with no tires!
  17. Maybe we can get a November 2010 thread started for us to keep in up with each other's progress, trials, and tribulations!
  18. The nutritionist at my doctor's office said I would need to take a multi-vitamin and calcium supplements .. both of which are HUGE mainly the calcium. If I can't swallow my regular pill that is so small you can take it without water I certainly will not be able to take the others.
  19. It sounds like I have nothing to fear but fear itself :wink2:. I trust my doctor because I haven't heard anything to the contrary and actually know a couple of people from work who have used the same doctor. I am just trying to relieve the anxiety I have been experiencing since I learned of my surgery date.
  20. Wow ... program fee! And you wonder why some insurance doesn't cover this surgery. I think any doctor that charges a program fee is dishonest ... it sounds like the doctor wants a tip on top of their fixed fee for the service.
  21. I have been reading this section in hopes of relieving my anxiety but think I am making it worse. My doctor doesn't have a pre-op diet that I have to follow. I am fearing the liquid diet right after surgery ... wonder if I should torture myself now to start getting used to it. My surgery date is November 11th.
  22. I got my surgery date yesterday and I am excited. My date is Nov. 11th and I have all kind of thoughts rolling around in my head. For some reason I can see the results here, there, and everywhere for many other people ... but the nagging conscious tells me that I may not be as successful as others. I find it funny that there are different pre-op requirements ... I don't have to do anything special with regard to diet. I wonder why. I had to visit my general physician for 6 months, had a psych evaluation, and a few group sessions at my surgeon's office thus far. I have to have some blood work done the week of my surgery and also meet w/the physician the week before.
