  5. Hip hip hooray!! Hip hip hooray!! Hip hip hooray!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS POST!! We are and have been WAY to hard on ourselves our whole lives and even giving ourselves this wonderful gift of owning our future we diminish it by saying 'only'!!! You are dead on... anything not gained is a huge win!!! Good Luck to everyone out there that is struggling with this... What great time of the year to start the new you! Cindy
  6. I had my surgery on the 15th...I felt great that day and yesterday... feeling pretty yukky today. I think the incisions are starting to heal and it's the tugging and pulling that are hurting.. I'm still puffy, and have this weird ...do I want to burp, throw up or am I hungry feeling going on! I don't want to choose the wrong one if you know what I mean!! Cindy
  7. This is so encouraging....thanks for sharing!!! Cindy
  8. My experience was awesome! I got to the Surgical Center at 12:30 yesterday and was home by 5:30! The only uncomfortableness that I am having is when I get up or down from a chair or in and out of bed. I am very thirsty that's for sure. I guess for the long day yesterday of no fluids till after the surgery. I am pretty nervous about eating right now. Of course it's just liquids today (and the net two weeks) but that includes cream Soups and yogurt. For some reason my pre-op diet was a little more generous and I could have cream of wheat, which I have come to love!!!! go figure! How is everyone else doing? How are you feeling? What are you able to eat? Cindy
  9. Good luck to all the December 15th bandsters!!! I'm ready! CIndy
  10. Well, by now you should be on the other side....How are you? I sent a text to your phone. I hope all went well... I will be interested to hear how your experience went as well as the others on here that got it done today. I go on Wednesday...! I'm in the same spot as Heather, I have a cold and hope it's not a cough on Wednesday! Let us know how it went and how you are feeling! Cindy
  11. Oh boy.... I go tomorrow for my pre-op testing... I wasn't nervous, till I read this! I had a stomach flu durring the two week liquid diet and when I got finished with that, I caught a cold... do you know if that will automatically be a NO during the pre-op testing?
  12. I wonder if you tried to semi-freeze it, then blend it with ice to make it a milkshake? The other thing that may help is the vanilla, to me it seems easier to blend it with other flavors. Good luck, throwing up sucks!! Cindy
  13. This is day 3 of the liquid (well somewhat liquid) diet. Honestly it hasn't been bad. I am impressed with how NOT hungry I am. Impressed is probably not the right word... shocked, that would be a better one. Yesterday I didn't even get in all the food that I should have. Go figure?!! I'm pretty sure that I will be plenty bored with what I'm eating in the next few days, but for now, it's OK. I will tell you that the best thing that I've eaten, even not on this diet is.. vanilla
  14. It's funny how each dr has their own preferences!! You will do great... I wish mine was only 6 days. This is going to be a long two weeks. Our numbers are pretty much identical! (weight and goal numbers) Cindy
  15. Wow....December 15th is a huge day for a lot of us!!! What worries you? What concerns you after surgery? What are you most looking forward to?? Cindy
  16. Hi.... How is your pre-op diet going? I am starting in the morning as it was so late in the day when I picked it up. Good luck to you, hopefully we can stay in touch through this exciting yet scary journey. Well... there's parts of this that are scary...at least to me anyway!! What is going to be the thing that you are looking forward to the most... post surgery, post weight loss? Cindy
  17. Hi lucky... I just wanted to let you know that I can see your ticker at the bottom. I am starting the pre surgery diet at roughly the same place you are. I'm at 241. The reasons that we are looking forward to this surgery really tug at the heart. I teared up a little when I read yours. I know there are many many many times when I'm at work meetings when I am about sure I'm the heaviest in the room. It wasn't to very long ago we were watching football and the announcer said, 'look at that guy, he's huge, over 240lbs'. I remember not being able to speak for several minutes because I thought I was going to lose it and wasn't with people that would 'get it'. That is a horrible feeling. I am so ready to get this started and be successful at it. My confidence is so incredibly tied into my weight it is sickening, I am ready for that to change. I can't even imagine my arms being exposed!!! Subliminally that has been going on for years! I wasn't really aware. How funny. Best of luck to you...let me know how your pre-op diet is going. My Dr. appt was late today, so I'm starting it in the morning. Cindy
  18. Yay!!! Another December 15th person! I believe that's 4 of us that are on here. Cool. I'm not gonna lie, I am struggling with this new format! I am sure it's operator error on my part. if it seems I'm not answering, I apologize... half the time I am trying to figure out if it's my post, or a copy of it, or someone elses ! Here are a couple of questions I'm curious about...... What's your greatest fear about the surgery itself? What's your greatest concern about life after the band? What's the most exciting part you are looking forward to? I'll go first. My greatest fear is....the Dr. deciding my liver hasn't shrunk enough and they can't do the surgery or the hiatal hernia I have will prevent me from being able to have the surgery. Greatest concern about life after the band... pizza, will I be able to eat it?? (and of course the no caffeine!) The most exciting part and what I'm looking forward to..... 2 things, coming out from behind myself, being my authentic self... and number two... crossing my legs!!! Who's up? Cindy
  19. I am glad to hear that there are others out there that will be going through this at the same time! unjury can be purchased on-line, but my Drs office sells it too. I was not going to get it there, because I figured that it would be really expensive at the office, but it's pretty much expensive everywhere. The 2 week diet is to shrink the liver. If I had been able to lost the weight myself, I wouldn't have to be on the 2 week diet. So I'm guessing if you don't have a 2 wk diet, you were able to lose the weight required yourself....so that's good. I just couldn't do it. I'd love to know how you are all doing leading up to and after your surgery. Cindy
  20. Good evening... Happy belated Thanksgiving....(we had ours today) I will be starting my 2 week liquid diet on Tuesday, November 30th.... I plan on using
  21. I finally have my surgery date! December 15th. It took almost 3 weeks to get the insurance approval. (felt like 3 months!) I am obsessed with reading as many of these posts that I can between now and surgery day... and of course afterward too! Great information on these forums. Cindy
  22. I just got my surgery date today.... December 15th. How quickly to go from being worried about getting approved, to being excited, to holy crap that's right around the corner!!!! Cindy
  23. I just got my surgery date today.... December 15th. How quickly to go from being worried about getting approved, to being excited, to holy crap that's right around the corner!!!! Cindy
  24. I have BCBSNC.... My paperwork was sent in on November 2nd. I have STILL not heard anything. When I called BCBS they said it was in 'review'. I'm also getting pretty nervous. How long had they had yours when you got approved. Its been 2 1/2 weeks so far for me. Running out of fingernails!!!! Cindy
