I have been overweight since I was about 7 years old. I went to Weight Watchers as a 13 year old and have tried on and off for years. I have also done South Beach diet - which worked well but the weight never stayed off. 18 months ago my primary physician suggested having Weight Loss Surgery, which I did. I had lap band surgery (couldn't bring myself to do the gastric bypass) on Aug 27th, 2009 and have lost about 150 lbs in 10 months. I think that I have been told that this isn't normal...that the lap band weight loss is typically slower but I have been exercising a lot so I attribute that to my success. I have had two skin removal surgeries (Oct 2010, Feb 2011) on my legs, stomach, chest and arms. I went from a size 28 to a size 6.
