  1. Jabba, Way to go for living life as you want to be!! I still am unable to chuck the meds but looking forward to when I can! Hopefully life with lapband will give me the new lease on life where I can be confident, and free to be me!
  2. Mine was on 9/22 also, by now you are off and running......
  3. I am really struggling with the hunger issue. I also feel I have to sit there and say "Hey is this in my head or my stomach?" I'm coming into the end of my second week of Clear liquids and I am SO HUNGRY!!!! I feel like I have to distract with activities, or go to sleep because it is torturing me! Does anyone have any suggestions how they deal with the hunger monster? How can a person be full with liquids? Thanks!
  4. Hi Yougotbiggie, I too am one week post op! I feel your pain.. The Clear liquids are getting tired really fast. I agree with Mellie about calling your surgeon about how and when they schedule your next progression. Maybe you could switch broth around(chicken veg) Protein shake flavors to jazz it up a bit. I feel the shake and the broth and the Water help me stay full for the most part and a mid-morning, afternoon popcicle, or Jello Hope it helps!! -Mary

  8. Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern has a support group in Rockland County I realize that is a ways from you, you could also look it up on their website. They are also affiliated with Bon Secours in Port Jervis. I had my lapband done at Good Sam.I live in Rockland. My doctor also works out of Goshen Bariatrics. Good Luck!! Irish
  9. Hey all, I have been feeling overwhelmed since my banding last week, and I just wanted to throw a couple of things out there to see if I am on point... When I woke up from anesthesia, I was hungry, I didn't feel sick I wasnt sure if that was normal... I am having a hard time differentiating between head hunger and real stomach hunger. I am trying to sit with the feeling but when a person has eaten to "complete fullness" it is hard. I am bombarded with sights when I go to the store, tv ads about food everything seems amplified!!! I have never realized how much my life revolves around food! I cant keep my mind off it. I bought a small note book to log what I eat. I am still recovering but I feel like I am "when can I eat again?" Anybody who can offer any suggestions, I would be totally grateful! Thanks, Irish
