Hi. I had my surgery on March 8th with Dr. Aceves in Mexicali. He operates out of a full hospital. Everything was top-notch and beyond clean!

Hi! I was just there at the beginning of March! Great experience as much as surgery can be! Everyone was so nice and you will feel very cared for and comfortable. If you have any specific questions let me know!

I don't know how this will work for me post banding... right now I'm still on clear liquids so I'm a long, long way from trying it... But had to say that I agree, this english muffin bread is sooooo good toasted!

March 2007 bandster just checking in! Was originally scheduled for March 7, never did post my update... I switched surgeons and went to Dr. Aceves for a March 8 date... So now am home. Been banded three days and let me tell you, broth is good stuff!!!!!

We're getting all the Pittsburgh Hospitals represented here! I'm scheduled March 7th with Dr Papasavas through West Penn. Wow... that self-pay of 10600 at AGH is good! I was quoted 12000 but now am waiting to find out if that is going to be true... I wouldn't choose on price alone but realistically that does enter into the final decision as well!!!

4 Weeks to go!!! 28 days! Woo-Hoo!!!

March 2007 is gonna be a great month for us all!!! I got the date, a real date :-) March 7!!! I'm so excited I can't stop thinking about it!!!!!

I hope I'm not jinxing myself by adding myself to this thread... LOL It looks like I'll have either a March 7th or 9th date... assuming the second surgeon is free that day as well... I hope either of THESE dates holds because the following week is spring break and recovery will be smoother if I don't have to worry about my night classes!!!

Only two more days til my, hopefully, final pre-op appointment! I'm having the Upper GI then meeting with the psychologist... Ideally, for recovery purposes, would be for me to have the surgery either Feb 9 or 12, but who knows if I can get a date that early after the appointments... Anxious and impatient in PA... Heather

I was going to say what Jersey Dori said... I've tried those diet clinics too... Want the same effect at 1/20th of the price with no daily painful needle sticks? Go buy a bottle of "extra-strength" B-complex Vitamins... Sorry to be blunt but like they say "Been there, done that, wasted the money"

I'm hoping for a Feb date... am doing the 14 day treatment for H Pylori right now after being tested and have my psych eval and an upper GI on the 25th of Jan... that should finish all the hoops I have to jump through... After that, being a self pay, I should be able to get a Feb date... I go back and forth between being glad my surgeon is so complete in his pre-op requirements to thinking "geez, I could have gone to MX and had this done last month for 2/3 the cost..."

I agree that the children's menu doesn't usually have the most healthful items on it... but, the senior citizens menu usually has better portions of the general menu... and the card might come in handy if you aren't old enough!

The doctor I am going to does fills for Mexico patients I think... It's West Penn Bariatric... And Dr Curry is just about 3 hours west on 70 so that is an option as well... Hope that helps... Heather
