About Me

Hi Everyone,

Four and a half years ago I had lapband surgery here in Australia. For me it has been both good and not so good I guess.

I had great support from my friends and family (with exception of my now ex husband whom at the time said he supported me but in the end that was not so the case) but support is one of the most important things in this process I found. I battled a lot at first because I couldn't eat at all. For the first 12 months I had nothing else but milk and milkshakes. I still now love milk and would happily live on it as it is the one thing I can have that doesn't make me feel sick. I have had to over the years learn what I can eat and some things I had to learn to eat more carefully (for example chew more and take smaller bites). I have found that a lot of foods give me severe heart burn and indigestion but have learnt to take tablets to help me through this.

I do not for one second regret getting the lapband done as it changed my whole life. I now have a new man in my life who has two beautiful little boys that I love to bits, I have a life again and I'm no longer ashamed to leave my house as I feel good, and probably most importantly I have a job again for the first time in many years and that gives me a reason to wake up in the mornings.

All in all lapband does have its ups and downs but for me it was the thing that gave me life so for that I am so grateful.

Thanks for reading and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Ree.
