  1. Congrats on your choice to have the band done. I was the around the same age as you when I had my band done. I'm not going to sit here and lie to you as far as it being hard or easy. My surgery went nice a smooth and I was up and walking around after I got back up to my room after surgery. But everyone is different so don't expect to be able to do that. I had my surgery on I believe a Monday and I was not suppose to work until that coming Friday and I surprised everyone, even my doc and was at work that Friday. But anyways like other people are stating go to your school and talk to the right people and tell them your story. Hopefully they will be understanding for you. And the best of luck to you. It was the best thing I have ever done. And wouldn't go back for a second.
  2. Hello, My name is Cat. I am 23 years old and I had the lap-band surgery in July of 2007. So I am 3 years out from my surgery. I started out at a weight of 332 (which was my highest) and now I am down to 230 today. I just wanted to say that this is a great idea and I wish i knew about it when I first had the surgery because I probably could have used some help. Well I have been through so many ups and downs throughout this surgery and post surgery. So if anyone is in need of advice or even just someone to talk to I am here 100%. **Cat**
