  1. The itching on your tongue and mouth is caused by the antibiotics. They kill all the good bacteria, too. You most likely have thrush and a yeast infection from that good bacteria being gone. You really do need to see your dr and call your surgeon. You poor thing. I hope you feel better. lots of positive thoughts an prayers for you.
  2. I chose RNY because I already had the band and the failure of that surgery was devestating. I'm basically going for gold here. Also I had to pick the RNY due to the damage caused by the band.
  3. The preop diet has been one big fail for me. However, after my information session today I feel better equipped and inspired to make it happen for myself. I am ready to go! The 3rd is gonna be here before you know it!
  4. I'm at my preop appointment at the hospital today. I'm having blood work and a surgery expectation class. It's starting to get very real!
  5. It is the worst pain. I'm disappointed I might still get stuck but I also am glad it happens less. I will have to be sure to chew really well.
  6. I don't have a choice to make. I used to be banded and now am having RNY. I was just wondering if I should anticipate the same horrible feeling. I got stuck all the time with my band with no fill. It was misery.
  7. Claire, I have about 90 pounds to lose. I am hoping I at least lose 75. I am a revision patient. I had the lap band a few years ago and had to have it removed due to severe complications. My Dr said that RNY is my only option now due to all the damage, so I can't get the sleeve. It's been a year since I had my band out. I can't wait for my surgery but I've been eating a lot of really bad food and it's hard for me to let go of it. It truly is.
  8. Are you on fb? It would be great to add you there. I update there a lot. My name is Erin Joleen Anderson. I look forward to keeping up with you during this journey too. I think your flights will be fine. You're going to love traveling with a new, healthier body! How much do you have to lose?
  9. Yes. I feel very similar. I don't know what to expect so I try to gather all the information I can and expect it all to happen, even though I know it probably won't. It's so difficult because it varies so greatly from one person to the next. I am definitely mourning food. I don't know why, exactly. I know I will eat again. It just seems so different. I know once the surgery is over, I'll be good to go because I'll be able to see what I can and cannot tolerate personally and plan accordingly. But until then I will be a bundle of nerves!! My date is February 3rd. One week from today!! How about you?
  10. It is a bit scary. I keep looking at things I enjoy sub as beer and think "never again!" I wonder about what foods I will be able to tolerate an which ones will be gone forever. I love to eat. I love food. That's why I'm here.
  11. That is a yucky feeling. If it persists, I would have him check it out. It would be a shame if something were going on and you had to deal with it after surgery too. I hope you're feeling better.
  12. I was ready today to cancel. It is a big decision.
  13. Me too! 1030 am on Feb 3rd.
  14. I've been using muscle milk with the almond breeze unsweetened vanilla. Yum yum. Not so bad at all.
  15. I'm gonna do it in a bit.
  16. Are you guys gonna post before pics or wait until you have something to compare?
  17. I've never tried it. I bought Muscle Milk powder.
  18. I'm protein drinking. Yum yum!
  19. Yeah, they aren't so bad. I think the anesthesia is lighter. I'm glad you're ok!
  20. Alex did you have your endo!?
  21. Tomorrow is go time for me. I'm excited.
  22. I'm having last supper syndrome in a bad way. Reality is going to be harsh Monday morning.
  23. I'm sure it's gonna get me judged, but I start my 2 week liquid diet on Monday, so I've been eating like an a-hole all weekend. It's shameful.
