  1. That is crazy! I am glad that you got the revision and it is working right now. Good for you for loosing 20 pounds anyway! Excited to hear how it goes for you now! Good luck!
  2. I didn't realize they had a unwich...I am totally going to get that next time I go there! Thanks for the tip!
  3. I have that problem also, I will have days when I think that I need a fill because I can eat anything and so I make up my mind to get a fill. The day before I have problems with getting stuck. I think my band is fickle...but I love it anyways! When I can eat whatever, I try (and it is hard) to eat good choices but I love to be bad sometimes too. If I eat something sweet, I make sure that I have a cheese stick or something with it. It makes me feel like it cancels each other out somehow. This has been a funny journey to try and get my mind in tune with my stomach. Keep up the good work!
  4. I say that you should stick to this rule from the beginning to start the habit because it really is something you need to get used to. You can do it!
  5. I agree, you are BEAUTIFUL and a great success! Keep positivie and enjoy your journey! You have a beautiful family that loves you and what more could you ask for.
  6. I had my surgery last March by Dr. Kuri and I loved him. Everything went perfect and it is just like people have commented above. They come and pick you up at the border and take you back to the states. The hospital is the cleanest I have ever seen and everyone you meet is the kindest people you will meet. I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to Dr. Kuri. Good luck with your decision.
  7. I am so sorry to hear about your loss! I wish you the very best of luck, I am not going to lie it is something always in the back of my mind. The last couple of days my stomach has been hurting and I pray that my band is ok. I hope that you start feeling better and can keep your head where it needs to be.
  8. Great subject...I was wondering if anyone was bothered by watching people eat now, I thought it was just me. It makes me disgusted and nervous. It's funny when you realize how fast and how much you used to eat and then you know for sure why you had the weight problem. I am so glad that I am not so addicted to food anymore. Sometimes I wish I could eat just a little bit more than I eat especially when it is so delicious but I wouldn't change where I am for anything!
  9. I hit my goal so much faster than I ever thought possible, I have never regretted getting the band. I LOVE my band and thrilled to be the size I was 30 years ago!
  10. I would definately do it again! I have been very happy and determined to make the right choices to loose the weight. I tell myself everyday positive thoughts and believe that I can do it and that I deserve to be thin. I pray that if you make the decision to have lapband that you stay focused and believe in yourself and the great value that you have! You will love the newfound energy and confidence!
  11. Congrats! I remember how excited I was to be able to say that, keep up the good work!
  12. This is the first time I actually ever saw a forum for March bandsters and thought I would say hello and tell you all to keep it up and don't give up. I was banded 3/3/10 in Mexico by Dr. Kuri and it was a great experience. I am so happy with the results that I have achieved with the band. I have reached my goal and now am maintaining. I hope you all are doing great!
  13. Hi! Just wanted to let you know my experience with fill doctors here in Utah...I had my band on 3/3/10 in Tijuana, Mexico by Dr. Kuri and it was the best experience ever. I called Surgical Weight Loss Center in Salt Lake and they are happy to do my fills. They charge $100 for new patient and then $75 for a fill. Now if you go back within two weeks, there is no charge and so if it takes a couple weeks to get your fill correct, there is no charge. After the first few times I did get a bill in the mail charging me and I freaked out but I called them and told them I was self pay and they took care of the error. I have been very happy with all of their help. When I went I just took the info that my surgeon gave me and I have not had any problems. Hope this helps...oh, their phone # is 801-746-2885
  14. Have you ever tried Magnesium? It helps with a lot of issues (try http://www.mgwater.com/benes.shtml) .At my health food store I buy a product called "Calm" which is a powder magnesium that you add water to and drink it. It really helps with a number of things. I also take Benadryl to help me sleep but I think it is similar to Simply Sleep which you stated did not work for you. Best of luck in finding the help you need.
  15. Congrats! I love reading all of the success stories! Keep up the great work!
  16. I also had a lot of hair loss in the first seven months. I didn't do anything about it and it has thickened up again back to normal. Sounds like this happens more often than not with rapid weight loss. Always check with your doctor if you are really worried. Take care.
  17. Congratulations! Really something to be proud of!
  18. Keep on keeping on everyone! You are all doing great and need to look forward and don't get discouraged, I was banded on 3/3/10 so it has been nine months and I have lost 70 pounds, 5 away from goal. I love my band and love the way I feel!
  19. So I started having really bad headaches in July and took Excedrin and have been taking it ever since. I just realized that it is a big no-no! I hope and pray that I have not ruined my band. Now I have to go through the not fun task of getting off Excedrin and do not know what to do for headaches. Has anyone else done this or something like it? I still feel okay so hopefully I am okay.
  20. It was the best thing I ever did for ME...I started at a BMI of 36 and now I am 24.9! I have not been at a normal weight since before I started having my children. I love the fact that I am at a healthy weight and can do things that I had a hard time doing before. People ask me all of the time how I have lost my weight and I still hesitate to tell them about WLS, I tell them I changed the way I eat and make healthier choices. I just choose not to tell them about the tool I have to help me. I looked into it for four years before I finally did it. I LOVE my band! Wish you the best!
  21. Great job so far everyone! This is my first holiday season to battle through and seriously there are already so many more sweets in my house than usual. This is going to be a real challenge! Good luck everyone, I am really going to need to stay focused!
  22. I also lost a bunch of hair, luckily my hair was thick to begin with but it really scared me. I am eight months out now and I too am noticing hair growth again and not as much hair coming out so just like everyone else said, "hang in there"! It was worth it to me!
  23. I also weigh myself everyday, mostly to keep me on track and also because it is so exciting to actually see my weight keep going down. I have been stuck the last couple of weeks but I love seeing the number that is on the scale, its been way to long since I have seen a number like that with me on the scale! I love my band! :frown:
  24. Thanks so much for setting up the challenge! This will be my first challenge and I need it to help get through the upcoming months. Good luck everyone, keep up the great work!
  25. I know that we still have the fight with our heads. What I do if I want to munch and I know that I shouldn't eat is I chew gum. For some reason I like to chew and this helps. I had to self pay and so I really focus on how much money I spent and I am determined to make it work. When I get hungry and want a snack I either have cottage cheese or a cheese stick so that I get some protein and some fruit or veggies. You can do it, you really just need to make some positive notes to post around for you! You are worth it!
