  6. My BMI was also 37 and I had no co-morbidities. After jumping through all the insurance hoops, I was denied coverage for lap band. My doctor appealed but I was still denied. I have insurance through Aetna. In the end, I knew that this was what I needed for my health so I was self pay. I hope that you have better luck with your insurance.
