  1. to Ronnie...i live in Houston but i am having surgery in Mexico. I am self pay because although my insurance says they cover it, there are to many stipulations that i can't meet. I have 4 kids, 2 are grown and out with 2 left at home. I work seven days a week mainly because I'm saving money to help pay for my surgery and also because being a dental assistant in houston doesn't pay well. Anyway that's about it. Love all the feedback.
  2. I have been lurking for a while but now I officially have a date so I decided to say hi. Getting banded in January. Super excited but nervous as hell. I have never been thin so it's hard to wrap my head around that idea. I wish I had old thin pics or something where I could look back and at least see what I looked like so I feel like I'm flying blind. Anyway I'm looking forward to talking to everyone.
  3. well, the "rationale" is he is in Mexico and can't get the AP band yet. Weird, 4cc's just seems small. idk what to do??
  4. I am planning to get my surgery in Mexico in Jan. I was told by a dr. here in the states to make sure they use the AP band which is bigger so less chance of slippage and erosion. Well the Dr. in Mexico uses the Allergan 4cc band. So how do I know if this will be ok for me? Anybody know anything about this? Thanks:confused:
  5. I am in the NW/cypress area but i won't be getting banded until January in Mexico. Good luck with ur band and maybe we can keep in touch. deb
  6. ok so the doc called and definitely confirmed what i mentioned earlier about the 3 years of supervised diets... really who gets their doc to supervise ww or nutrisystem or any other of the million diets they have done. Doc said we can get medical records to at least have weight records and see if at anytime i was taking any diet pills etc... and maybe we can piece something together. Anyone ever do anything similiar??? sooo frustrated. so on another note if i end up having to pay cash any low cost recommendations here in Texas or Mexico?? Thanks for any advice.
  7. I have uhc and they cover the surgery foe morbid obesity... then when I go to the glossary for their def of that it says bmi of 40 etc... then it says 3 years of medically supervised diets with 2 doc.. WTF who does that? Anyone ever heard of this? Can u get around it or appeal?? Thanks
  8. Any thoughts or opinions on this doc??? Consult in 2 weeks.
