  1. I just got so emotional reading this, because I felt the same way, as soon as I woke up, I was asking am I banded. But i was in alot of pain because, I had hernia repair, but i am also very happy and thankful. ALSO my port is in that same location slightly above and to the left of my belly button. I am intrested in knowing what diet do they have you on, and did you lose any weight with pre-op diet and that. I wish you much success, please keep in touch and let me know your progress. thanks tina
  2. I worked with a dietician for over 22months while waiting on approval, for my surgury. In this time period, I started increasing my activity, weighing in with dietician and bariatric nurse once a month, started replacing all my sugar habits with other things. For example when i first started i would normally have maybe roast with potatoes extra gravy buscuits and for desert white cake with icing and a pop and some vanilla ice cream. that was horrible.( now that I look back, didnt taste horrible, lol, but....) after months would go, i might would change to roast with, baked potato, and salad, crystal light, and some sugar free jello with lots of sugar free low cal cool whip, and some water. or fish with salad and potato. These new sugar fixes didnt come overnight, but they came with changing my mind set with my dietician, that help me. The less sugar i ate, the better i felt. i started to notice that i didnt even want to see little debbie cakes or anything else. You will have to start one item at a time. one day at a time, i think this will be your best bet for success! much luck to you!
  3. I was banded on 3/15/2011 and I am fine, that was tuesday and i have not been hungry yet, today is saturday. It has been hard for me to get all my protein shakes in, no appetite to want to eat. The hernia repair was the worst, no real gas. I do have a lump in my arm after an iv was pulled out going to get it checked tomorrow. Wondering what will be the next step in this lapband. I had mine done about an hr away from where i live, so im wondering how many trips to that area will i have to make??? and were you in alot of pain afterwards? Did they tell you how your diet will be for the first few weeks? Hope all continues to go well after your surgury and wishing you, many, pounds away!!!!!
