I have been heavy ever since I can remember.  I could go on and on about reasons but seriously, what’s the point.  After having the lap band I have learned to finally stop emotionally eating and relying on food to make me feel better – let’s be honest, do you ever end up feeling better in the end? The past year has been an amazing journey; good times and bad.  Breaking the habits is a long process and I don’t think that’s something I ever would have learned without the band.  Over the years on my gazillion diets I would say to myself “this is a lifestyle change” bulls, I never really believed that until now.  This is my new life; exercising, eating healthy food to fuel my body.  It’s great!  I still struggle with self-esteem and see something completely inaccurate in the mirror and of course, the weight never comes off fast enough.
