  1. I could feel my band for a few weeks after surgery. It was horrible! It felt like someone had stuck their hand in my chest and was squeezing my stomach. Luckily, I am 8 weeks post op now and no longer can feel it. Maybe its positioned badly?
  2. Margaret I don't know if its band related but if I were you I would definately get a check up at the doctors. You never know what it could be.
  3. Well I had my appt with Dr Dolan and am booked in for surgery on the 18th October at Joondalup. Cant wait:thumbup:
  4. I'm going with Dr Kevin Dolan. Haven't heard any reviews about him so I hope he is good.
  5. Thankyou, I hope there is something I can take for it.
  6. Wow, all you guys are amazing!!! I cannot even imagine eating so little and not being obsessed with when I was going to eat next!
  7. Hi everyone I live in Mt Nasura WA, I have my first appointment on 11th August with Dr Dolan. Wish I could fast forward time!!! Wish you all luck and hope to keep in touch and follow your journeys.
  8. What do you eat? How do you get your days protein? from a vegetarian wanna be bander:smile2:
  9. Oh my goodness! How do you have the strength to get through your day on so few calories? Are you exercising also? If you are I think you are amazing!!
  10. What does your typical days food intake look like? Do you have trouble with certain meals? How much can you eat? From a curious about to be bander:blush:
  11. Could someone please explain why the gas and shoulder pain? I am a newbie awaiting surgery and never imagined this pain.
  12. Emsey, Im not really nervous, more impatient! I have my initial consult in 3 weeks and it could be a couple of months after that. I have been told that I will be done before christmas. Dry Gulch, how are you feeling 10 days post op?
  13. Hi there, I'm a 32 year old mum living in Perth, Australia. I stumbled across this website and have spent hours on here already reading blogs and checking out peoples pics. I am probably going in for surgery in the next few months and would love to chat with others that are starting out and also, if anyone who has already been banded wants to take me under their wing I would be very appreciative:smile2:

Iwanttotriagain, you are so funny for doing that! I thought I was the only one with sinister ideas of how to add weight. I am approaching my consultation in 3 weeks and was planning on carrying hand weights in my pockets. Your idea is better;)
  15. I just read your blog. Firstly, thanks for sharing. I am awaiting surgery in a couple of months and it is good to know what it is really like. So many of the patient stories on the doctors websites have people saying that the pain is very minimal. Its nice to know that that may not be the case so I can plan for it. I have two little girls aged 6 & 7 so now that I have read your blog, I will organise someone to have them for a few days post surgery as before I was planning on just doing it all myself. Keep blogging as I certainly will keep reading:thumbup:
