  1. Hi - Can anyone tell me if I have my lapband done in Mexico and then travel to the US and there happens to be a complication resulting from my procedure whether I could get coverage? I am from Canada. Thank you
  2. Great Freespirit! I am having my surgery with Dr. Kuri on Sept. 7th. I'm so excited...and nervous... My patient advocate in Mexico just had plastic surgery in Mexico. She actually lives in both Denver & Mexico and is an ICU nurse. She "highly" recommend Mexico for surgeries.
  3. :tongue2:Geesh! Us Canadians are just so darn nice, hey!!
  4. Hi! I go in for my lapband next month so I'm curious reading this information. That is awful with all your bands leaking. Can you tell me that when they give you a fill with fluroscopy whether they can tell at that time if you have any leaks? Thank you :rolleyes2:
  5. Hi there fellow Canadian! I am 53 and live in Calgary. I go to Mexico for my lapband in a month. I'm super excited. I'd like to follow this with someone else as well. Let's keep in touch! Mel
  6. Hey Vickyd - Your mother-in-law's action is precisely why I didn't want to tell people. Geez!! I don't think we need to defend our actions. It is a big decision and support is so crucial. I'm glad you have support of your family. I have broken down and told my best friend. She's thrilled I'm getting it done. It's amazing how a positive reaction can make such a difference.
  7. Hi Zeniada - Good luck and let me know how you make out?! I wish I was going sooner - it's all I can think about!
  8. Hi Everyone! I am Canadian but having my lapband done next month in Mexico. Does anyone know if there would be a problem getting medical help in Canada if there are any complications later? Would we have to self-pay if procedure done out of Canada and now problems? Thanks for any knowledge on this. Mel
  9. Hi everyone! I'm excited to head to Mexico for my lapband in September with Dr. Kuri. Let's all keep in touch. It will be great to have the support of others in a similar position. Good luck to all!:bolt:
  10. I'm going in September to Mexico to have Dr. Kuri do the surgery. I am super excited about it. His office has already given me surgeons in Calgary,Canada here where I live to do the fills. I contacted their offices and they would be more than pleased to do the fills. My brother had his lapband done in Mexico as well and he lives in British Columbia, Canada and he's had no problem with fills as well. Take care!
  11. I am totally with you as far as not telling anyone (aside from my husband). I am getting banded in September and I only want to feel positive and not prepared for any negative judgment from anyone that doesn't understand the procedure. I don't want to have to defend my decision. I'm excited about it and looking forward to a healthier way of lifestyle. Good luck to you!!
