Hey ya'all, Its been awhile I haven't gotten my lapband yet cause I'm still on this nutritional program I'm on my 3rd month and I have to say just with the changes I've made I've lost 25lbs, but trust me I have a ways to go but so far the progress has been great. I've gotten all tests (no diabetes:thumbup:and im not crazy..lol) out of the way. So I'm getting closer to my goal. I hope everyone is doing great cause I have never felt better. I have learned alot of self control over the past couple of months, this road has been hard and I have had to do alot of praying but I keep it pushin and I'm not giving up til I hit my goal.
  3. Hey everyone just an update I had my endoscopy done on Friday and it went well. This Friday I have a follow-up with my surgeon and I will also see a nutritionist that same day to get my 6mos nutrition program started. So I am well on my way to getting the lapband surgery. I'm totally excited cause everything is starting to move forward. A step closer to a longer, happier and healthy life!!:thumbup::thumbup:

So true jmunks2000 and inhardemon I've been thinking about this for years and just about 4mos ago I started thinking about it seriously and then finally pushed myself to go to the seminar and consultation. So it does feel like a road block, but thanks so much for the encouraging words. And trust me I'm over it now, my blood pressure went up the roof but I calmed myself down and now I'm just ready for the weekend to start...lol!!
  7. So I just got a call this morning from my surgeons office. She wanted to tell me that she just spoke with my insurance and I have to meet some medical criteria before my insurance can consider (you notice how she said consider not approve or deny) me getting the LAP-BAND® surgery. I was so upset because I called my insurance twice to verify everything and they never told me that I had to go through a 6mos nutritional program and other testings (I knew about the testings but they were asking for other tests I'm like dang you want to check my a** too..lol sorry that was too much)!! Uuuugggghhhh so irritated with them right now. So now I have to go through this nutritional program and now I'm worried that after I do all of this they'll deny me :mad:UUUUGGGGGHHH!!!! But don't worry I'm not giving up I've gotten this far and I'm not turning back so I'll do it all !! Health insurances are so funny they do everything in there power to not pay for your health care services, its like they want you to be close to death before they decide to pay for something:mad2:. But I will keep on keeping on and I wont let this bring me down. You know what let me stop right now I wouldn't be in this predicament if I hadn't of let myself get so big like this. I'll still move forward with my plans/goals just wanted to get this off of my chest before I start my day at work, everyone have an awesome day and thanks for letting me vent..lol :tt2:. I feel so much better.
  8. Congratulations on the success truly an inspiration. Keep up the good work.
  9. That is so awesome congratulations. I bet the feeling is great!! Keep up the good work.

So I had my consultation yesterday 07/30/2010. And it went pretty fast, so I am definately morbidly obese per my surgeon. But before he sends his report to my insurance I have to have an endoscopy done, which I always thought that procedure was going to be done in the Dr's office. So I'm scheduled for that in 2weeks.:confused: Little scared cause its going to be done at the hospital. I'm probably being silly but other than having my tooth pulled out I've never had anything major like this done. So I'm totally excited and can't wait to get everything approved tests done and then lap band surgery, new beginnings to a long healthy life.:smile2::thumbup:

Hey everyone so I am new to this, and I am so glad that a co-worker referred me to this site. I appreciate all the stories of everyone's outcomes. I'm at the beginning stages i have a consultation on 07/30/10. I'm both excited and scared. I've never gone through something like this before. I've always been able to drop the pounds with no problem but for the past 3 yrs its been piling up and still going. I've decided to take this step mainly because of health issues that have arised since the weight have been piling up. I've already had 2 family members who lost the fight with obesity.:frown: I'm tired of being tired and I've decided that I want to live and I'm gonna do what ever it takes as long as I have anything to do with it. Thanks to everyone for sharing your awesome stories it truly motivates me. And once I get the ok from my surgeon and my insurance I will definately post before pics so til then everyone have an awesome day.:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
