  1. I am currently on my 2 week pre-op liquid diet, but I must admit it's terrible. Has anyone cheated on their pre-op diet? I admit I have. But I cheated with a salad. I am taking meds and I forgot to tell them I have to take it with food. That's the reason why I've been feeling so sick. smh Any comments...please post.

Well today (Aug. 2) I went for my first doctor appt @ Mercy Hospital. I do qualify for the lap band. My BMI is 51 (YIKES!) I had my lab work and x-ray done and 2morrow (Aug . 3) I go for my medical clearance. I will sign up to have all my classes done next week. They say we have to take 4 classes but the schedule only shows 3 classes. I will have to ask annalisa about that. Anyway, I'm excited. Step 2 is tomorrow, Step 3 August 18th and step 4 September 11.

I went to the Lap Band seminar at Mercy Hospital (Chicago, IL) and it was very informative. The staff was very nice and informative. They confirmed that PUBLIC AID COVERS EVERYTHING!! I was also able to make some friends. lol. They also have a yahoo group to join that have information about the pre-op and post-op classes that are required to take. I left with my mind made up that I will be having the Lap Band procedure done. My next appt is Aug. 2. There will be a lot of testing, physical, and mental evaluations. I'm excited. My new life began yesterday and THE WEIGHT IS OVER!!!
  5. I am going to a LAP-BAND® seminar on Jul 13, but I am curious to knw about anyone who has had the LAP-BAND® done in Illinois with the Medical card? How long did it take to get approved? How long did it take to get the surgery done. I am considered extremely obese, I have sleep apnea, hypertension, and clinically depressed. If anyone has any information regarding this post, please respond. Thank you in advance. Luci :rolleyes2:
