  1. Hi all, I'm so excited. I'm being banded on January 11th. I just started my 5 day pre-op diet (liquids) so wish me luck! I keep telling myself I can do anything for five days! Have any of you set goals for yourself yet? I'm starting to think about what weight I want to be and when and what my final goal should be, but I've always been overweight so I'm not even sure where to start. Wishing you all luck and I am so grateful to have everyone here. Lori
  2. Thanks for the quick answer! My BMI is 45.9 - You're probably right about every surgeon being different I'm just worried that I somehow misunderstood. I would hate to show up and be told no at that point :paranoid I'll talk to my surgeon next week and verify, but would still appreciate anyone's thoughts... Lori
  3. Hi All! I live in Sandy and will be having surgery in Mexico in January. I was wondering if any of you have a local doctor who will do fills that you trust? My biggest concern with the surgery right now is aftercare and I'd really appreciate any insight you can share! Lori
  4. Hi All, I've read on the board about people being on a liquid diet for 10 days or more pre-op, and am wondering if this is accurate? I am scheduled for Surgery on January 11th and my doctor is saying with my BMI I only need to be on liquids for 3-4 days. I just was wondering if anyone knows why the difference? :help: Lori
  5. Hi all! I'm 28, single and living in Salt Lake City. I have to agree with what a lot of you are saying. I don't date, and I do think my weight has a lot to do with it, but mostly because I'm not comfortable with myself. I have an appointment to be banded on Jan 11th and haven't told anyone... still trying to decide if I should :girl_hug: ~Lori
  6. I agree. I'm scheduled to have the surgery in January and I keep second guessing myself. I looked into Gastric Bypass about a year ago, and just couldn't handle the idea of the drastic physiological changes, so I really think the band is the way to go for me. I admit I am embarassed that I can't seem to solve my weight issues on my own, but I have tried time and time and think this is the solution. ~Lori
  7. Hi All, I'm new here and have an appointment to banded by Dr. Rumbault in January. I see a lot of newbies on the boards but was wondering if anyone had the surgery a couple of years ago or longer and could provide some insight on long term issues or benefits =0) Either way, I look forward to meeting everyone and hopefully learning from your experience! Lori
