  1. From what I see on the show the parents are contributing to these kids obesity. Did anyone see the episode where the 14 year old boy needed surgery so his mom came to take him to the hospital. She took him to a chinese buffet to eat. He had like 4 or 5 plates of food, then dessert and icecream. His mother should have never taken him to a buffet.
  2. I took a full week off, and believe me, I really needed it. My gas pains were terrible until about day 5. There is no way I could have worked. Everyone is different, hopefully you don't have gas pains.
  3. A cotton dress is probably a good idea. I wore a loose shirt and stretchy shorts that had a low waste.
  4. Awww, the mighty mighty Gas Pains. I was banded 7/15 and had terrible terrible gas pains in the center of my chest. Felt like a dull blade knife going thru me. GasX didn't work for me. The pains lasted for about 7 days, then miraculously the went away. They will go away for you all soon too. Good Luck.
  5. I was banded 7/15/10 and prior to surgery I was addicted, I mean ADDICTED to diet sodas. Diet Coke, Diet Pepsi, Diet Dr. Pepper....Yum. I'm happy to say I haven't had one since my surgery, and don't ever plan to have one again. Now I drink Vitamin Water Fruit Punch flavor, and sugar free apple juice. Unfortuneatly I'm not a plain water drinker, never have been.
  6. Trace10, I haven't taken the time to figure out the ticker yet. I lost 10 pound on the pre-op diet, but in the two weeks since my surgery I've only lost 4 pounds. I haven't cheated at all. I'm trying really hard to not get discouraged. I know there is swelling and I know my body has to heal, I just get frustrated when I hear other people are losing weight after surgery.
  7. Hey Dawn, I was banded July 15th, and I live in St. Louis. Where was your surgery. Mine was at St. Alexius with Dr. Wagner. I start mushies tomorrow and I'm so excited. I already have the days menu all planned out.
  8. There is a yahoo group called BandBuddies. Most of the members are from the dallas/fort worth area. I live in St. Louis and joined the group for support, and later found out it was mainly for north Texas folk.

I'm being banded July 15th at St. Alexius, but my doctor is Dr. Van Wagner. His office is not at the hospital campus, it is off of Lemay Ferry.
  10. Hello all, I'm new to the board. I'm getting banded July 15th. I'm very excited, yet nervous because the whole process has happend so fast for me. My first appointment with the doctor was in April, and my insurance approved me in June. It happened so fast I can't believe its real. I'll tell you what is real though, my HUNGER. I have been on a clear liquid diet for six days now and it sucks. I can't believe what other people get to eat on their pre-op diets. My doctor is pretty strict. He even makes his patients stay over night in the hospital for precaution.
