Fitocracy: For Those Who Live In A Gym!
Just joined! Still getting the hang of it, it's giving me all these weird points and levels, I am not entirely sure what to make of it.

Ahhhhh Candy!
I tried a few flavors before and didn't care for them, but yesterday my boyfriend got the Peanut Butter ones and they are REALLY good! I'll be stocking up on Easter candy once it goes on sale. I have some coupons for the big bags of Cadbury mini eggs and I'm pondering buying the bags and portioning the contents into Ziploc bags so I don't get carried away with them.

A Sushi Nightmare,lesson Learned :(
Sashimi is fine, you won't have any trouble with it. It's soft and goes down easier than any cooked meats.

I Overcame And I Did It :)
Wow, that's a great time! Even on a totally flat surface, let alone hiking uphill on a rough trail!

A Sushi Nightmare,lesson Learned :(
I eat sushi quite often. I prefer nigiri, though. I will usually cut half of the rice off - it still tastes good, but then it leaves me more room for fish. With rolls, it's definitely a challenge. For your average small California rolls, I can eat 5 at most; honestly, 4 is plenty. For these giant rolls, 2 is all I can eat. My favorite order is chirashi - assorted sashimi on a bed of rice. It's cheap per ounce of fish and I get to control the quantity of rice - honestly, a pinch is all you need.

Need Voices Of Experience- Obsessing Over Mfp
I don't log my meals on a regular basis; maybe once or twice a month at most. I found it more helpful early on, mostly because I'd think I was eating tons and then when I logged things, it'd end up being like 900 calories, so then I'd know I needed to eat more. Otherwise, these days it just makes me obsess with food. I also start figuring out how much junk I can get away with before my calorie count goes too high, and then I end up eating treats that I may not have even wanted that much in the first place, just because I know I can get away with it. Bad idea!

Peanut Butter? Pureed Or Not Pureed? That Is My Question...
- Bananas? Good Or Bad?
- Has Anyone Lost To Much Weight Or Cant Stop Losing Weight After Hitting There Goal?
I remember worrying about this after I got my sleeve. The lowest weight I ever hit was 136 lbs and all of sudden I became VERY hungry and unable to control myself. But as soon as I let my weight climb 2-3 lbs, the hunger decreased. Whenever I tried to get down to 136 again, I would get ridiculously hungry again. I found it impossible to get below that weight. Yet I have no trouble maintaining in the low 140s (I've put on some muscle since, so I actually have a lower bodyfat % at 141 than I did at 136). I'm big-boned and I found that when I weighed less, I was quite bony, whereas with a few extra pounds of muscle, I look much healthier.- Class Of 2010 Where Are You? And How Ya Doing?
How did I miss this? Anyway, Aug. 2010 here and doing great. I had a funny moment today - I posted a picture of a cake I ate (without saying I only ate 1/4 of the slice!) on Facebook and a friend from the gym was like, "OMG, how do you eat all this stuff and stay so cut?" I just said, "I eat whatever I want....just in small amounts." People are jealous and it feels kinda good!- Exercising With An Artificial Knee
Honestly, I think you should see a physiotherapist or kinesiologist, as you have a unique situation and none of us are professionals who know the consequences of doing something with an artificial knee. That said, you could still lift upper body weights - you'd just have to use machines and benches. You can still do bench presses, chest flyes, seated bicep curls, tricep extensions, etc without standing.- Couch To 5-K
Week 5, day 1! Did well. I peeked at week 6, though, and I'm a little apprehensive. 8 minutes of jogging in a row is a LONG time. Mind you, I've done it before, but it was usually in a race setting, where there's more pressure and there are other people about to outrun you. It's different when you are alone and just training! I'm taking things a bit slower, since I can't seem to find time to run more than 2x a week - I try to make it to Crossfit at least 4, ideally 5 days a week, and I take 1 rest day a week. I should be done right about my 5K date (end of May).- Does The Stomach (Organ) Feel Pain?
The type of pain you feel from your internal organs is more like menstrual cramps (dull ache) and often makes you feel nauseous or light-headed, as opposed to somatic pain from, say, your skin, that is very sharp and makes you wanna go "ow!" and jump away. You'll experience both post-surgery.- Watching Ppl Eat Is Gross
It's absurd even a while out of surgery. I went out to dinner with my fiance tonight. I had 2 sliders (with the top bun off) and a slice of pizza and was absolutely stuffed. He had 2 sliders, with all the bread, and 9 slices of pizza. It's quite unbelievable, really.- Eating It All?
You can avoid ketosis and get carbs in by simply drinking juice instead of some of your water.- Couch To 5-K
Did Week 4, Day 3 today - much better than 4:2. Did the whole thing as prescribed and made sure to pace myself this time - it seems that my downfall is running super-fast and then fizzling out 2 minutes later. 6:30 km/min pace, which is a 32:30 5K, so not bad. I want to get under 30 mins, as I've never been able to before.- Would You Have Done It Sooner? Say In College.
I would've definitely done it earlier, had I had the money. I remember first considering WLS in like 2006 - I was looking at the lap band. Good thing I didn't get that band! LOL.- Post Ops: After The Two Years Is The Size Of Food The "normal Size?"
I'm more than 1.5 years out and no, I still can't eat a full meal anywhere. Even at restaurants that serve "normal" portions. So I doubt you will ever be able to eat what would be considered a full-sized meal.- Well Well Well....lifes A Trip..heres My Before N After Pics.. Tadaaaaaaaa
Wow! You look so built now!- Going Out To Eat
You can always slide some food down your sleeves when no one's looking! LOL- Wls Quick Results
My boyfriend was out of the country for 2 weeks when I was having WLS. He kept telling me he was worried he wouldn't recognize me at the airport when I came to pick him up. It's like, how much weight do you think one can lose in 2 weeks? LOL men.- Couch To 5-K
I did fairly well with week 4 day 1, but this morning I did day 2 and did awful. I don't know if it's because I'm not a morning person and don't usually work out in the AM or because I did it on an empty stomach or what. Oh well, at least I did something, I suppose!- Newbie - Sleeved 3/14 Hemoglobin Very Low
What was your Hb before the surgery? Do you know if you lost a lot of blood during the operation itself? Just wondering since this could suggest (among other things) an internal bleed.- Lose And Loose Are Two Completely Different Words
Hahaha, I know, I cringe every time I see that! - Bananas? Good Or Bad?
