My story is simple. I became tired of food being the big monster in my life. I was tired of feeling confined in my own body and blaming everything that was seemingly of course in my life on my weight. After watching a cousin of mine opt for the surgery and watching a friend do the same, I decided that it was time to start putting myself first in at least 1 way in my life. I'm a teacher and a giver by nature who, like many in this position has trouble putting my needs and priorities first. Now I'm looking forward to doing more rather than eating more. Food will no longer be my task master, and I will be able to love myself and my life with no excuses. Wish me luck and here's to all of the rest of you brave ones out there.
