  1. RPM..... there were a few times I cheated pre-op and it did not cause me any problems during my surgery. The diet is for shrinking your liver & organs to make the surgery easier. I also ate some popcorn and other things. They really don't know unless you are over-indulging I would think. As I said I did cheat and had no problems during my procedure
  2. Hi Julie I'm sad for you just reading that you didn't share your experience with your family. tbh I didn't tell anyone beyond a few close friends, my husband and my mom - but I do regret it now. There are so many people who want to be there, Well, I am here for you if you want to talk. But don't keep it a secret or you will get totally depressed
  3. I was banded on June 8 and had some complications - had vomiting and horrid pains. They weren't sure what was wrong at first, but x-ray showed I was blocked. Dr. thought it was just swelling - on June 9 another xray showed that the band had slipped. DOn't ask me why - it just did They had to give me an NG tube to drain the barium from the xrays, etc. And had to go back in for an another surgery. This one was not SILS (single incision) - so I have 6 incisions now. But aside from the initial problems I have NO COMPLAINTS!! I feel great (a bit tired). And I am looking forward to the help it can give me.... ALSO - not sure how common, but I didn GAIN 8 pounds in the hospital iv;s - it;s gone now, but keep it in mind maura 262 in December 09 235 on surgery day 6/8
  4. Funny - I had surgery on Tuesday (and again on Wednesday because of an immediate slip) and started "squarts" today and I was nervous. My husband looked at me and said "liquids in/liquids out - DUH" I guess his non-medical opinion was exactly right. Nice to see it in writing here from those who are, or have experienced the same.
  5. Thank you both - I will keep you up to date. I joined the site a few weeks back, but kinds of laying low until my surgery. I am 24 lbs lightwer than I was in April which puts me at 238 (starteed at 262). My goal is 140, which the PA says may be too low, but we will just have to see how I look/feel. getting ready to go take my anti-bacterial shower (as ordered by the hospital -1 tonight and 1 before hospital in the am) See you all tomorrow:thumbup:
  6. Checking into the hospital for my banding at 6:00 am tomorrow morning.. I am excited and a bit nervous!! More nervous about my husband finding a way to come and get me when I'm ready to come home than about the surgery itself. I have already lost 24 lbs because of diet and excercise - looking forward to abt a 120 more.....
  7. I have to say the day before my pre-op diet I made sure to eat my favorite meals....today was really the worst for me, hense the cheat with the burger.... best of look to you too...
  8. I am on day 6 of Bariatric Advantage... it's not easy for sure although I am allowed the s/f pops, and severa beverages. I did cave in at the family bbq today and have a buger (no bun). It's dinner time that kills me, I can smell the food and it drives me crazy. Back on track tomorrow and looking forward to my surgery
  9. Hi - I just found this site today. I am 9 days away from my lap-band surgery. Currently on my pre-op liquid diet (although I did cheat today), and have my final dr. appoint tomorrow, endoscopy tomorrow - then smooth sailing til surgery. Was 262 when the dr. put me on Adipex to lose some weight before the surgery - at 242 now and looking forward to being below the 200 lb mark before too long I look forward to meeting you !!!!
