1. Hi Elinrw, What time was your appointment yesterday (7/23)? I left his office around 2:30 and met a new patient of his coming out of the elevator. Was that you? Sheila
2. Hi All! I am home now in WI. I walked in the door at Midnight! What a long day!! The port was flipped. Dr. K reattached it and all went well. I'll write more later! Good Night!
3. Thanks Mal! I leave tomorrow morning and surgery is on Monday. I'll let you know how it goes, probably on Tuesday!:whoo:
4. Oh Mal! I am sorry to hear about your Buddy! It's good that you got a new Buster though! I can't wait to see pictures!
5. Hi Fellow January bandsters!!! I didn't even realize that my 6 month bandiversary is coming up! Unfortunately, my port has been flipped since April. I have only been able to get one fill since I've had my band. As a result, I have only lost 31 lbs. I am so jealous of all of you who are doing so well. On Monday 7/23 I FINALLY get to go back to my surgeon and get my port reattached and have a fill done. I am hoping that this extra restriction and new phase will be the motivation I need to get back on track and finally start losing weight again!!! Wish me luck and thanks for listening! :whoo:
6. One more week and my port will be fixed! Yippee!!!!! :clap2::clap2::whoo::clap2::clap2: :bandit
7. Wow! That's shocking! But, what's done is done. Hopefully you'll be able to find the silver lining. =o)
8. Thanks for lookin' out for me, Amy. Yes, he offered to do that too! I think I'll talk to him before the surgery to see what the best plan is, then play it by ear. I think I'll have him fill me up a little while he's doing the surgery, that way, incase I am unable to get a fill afterwards, I will still have a little more restriction! We'll see how it goes...
9. Hey Woofay! Thanks! Yes, it's odd that my butt is getting smaller, since I have always been an 'apple' and not a "pear". After I had my baby though, my bottome widened - yay for me:phanvan, so I am glad it looks smaller. I will only be in town a few hours. I fly in Sunday afternoon and fly home that monday, only a few hours after surgery. Yes, I am nuts. My sis will be on the flight with me, and I am flying to our local airport - as opposed to driving home from Milwaukee or Minneapolis - a 3 hour drive- as I usually do. I'll just recover on the plane! I really wish I could meet everyone though. I'll let you know when I am in town for my next fill. Maybe we can meet up then?? Hopefully Dr. K. is going to do a fill after I recover from the surgery. My surgery is at 11:00 and I have an appt at his office at 2:45 for the fill, if I feel up to it.:clap2:
10.
Silry! Don't be so hard on yourself! You are still doing great, and look at all the weight you've lost so far! I was banded in January and have only lost 30 lbs - 20 since surgery. I have a flipped port so I have only had one small fill... Yes, I am discouraged, but I am still optimistic! Keep your chin up, maybe start an account on FitDay and see how much of/ and what you are eating. Logging my food intake is really a wake up call sometimes and it helps you stay on track.. and I've missed about two weeks now and I can tell. The scale is not moving! Good Luck!!

11. I posted a before and during shot. I still have a long way to go, but it's nice to see some progress - even though I haven't lost ANY weight in about 2.5 months... http://www.lapbandtalk.com/510320-post791.html
12. The photo on the left is from August 2006. The one on the right, July 2007 (My husband took the pic when I wasn't expecting it). I'm down 30. I am waiting to get my port reattached so I can get another fill (I've only had one, and that was in March '07)
13. Hi All! Yes, Dr. K will be reattaching my port on 7/23/07. My sis is flying out with me. I can't wait to get this fixed and get back on the band wagon! I've been doing well otherwise. I've been back to work since January and still like my job, so that's good. My daughter keeps me busy. She's just a toddler full of energy! My husband and will be closing on a 'lil piece of land on Tuesday. It's on a hill with a beautiful view of the river valley. We're very excited. We won't be building on it for about a year or so, but we're happy we at least have the land. It only took us about 3.5 years to decide on a lot... geesh!
14. That's Robin - billing, long grey black hair. I think she's the office manager. I have never met Mary, nor have I talked with her. Whenever she answers the phone, I ask to speak to Marilyn. I did get an itemized receipt of sorts, 'cause I asked for one. If you call Robin and ask her, she should be able to send you one.
15. Hi Everyone!!! My goodness!! So many new Dr. K people. I'm sorry I haven't posted in a long while, but I've been busy since it's summer and all! I am counting the days until I can get my port fixed. I'll be having surgery on July 23rd to accomplish that. Believe me, that day can not get here soon enough. I am so surprised I haven't gained any weight. I've only had that one fill, and that was back in March!!! Somedays, it's like I don't even have a band. How I wish for that full feeling again! It looks like everyone is doing really well! Keep up the great work!
16. Congrats Mal! Don't feel bad about feeling good! I felt good too. I think the most annoying thing was being able to feel the tape on the incisions rubbing against my clothes. Other than that, just a little soreness (like I had done a bunch of sit ups the day before) when I got out of bed. Stick to liquids for that 5 days or so after surgery. I didn't get much protein in during the liquid stage, and none of my hair fell out or anything.(yet, anyway) Just make sure you get that 60-80 grams/day in when you go to mushies and solids!
17. Hi All! I finally get to move my ticker again. I lost a pound. WOO HOO, I'll take it. I can't believe I have to wait 2 months to get my port fixed and get another fill. I am just trying to work the restriction I have. Logging my food intake on Fitday.com really helps too! Now if I could just exercise more consistently. I've been moving more, just not as much as I need to or want to!! Everyone else is doing so well!! Great Job!!
18. Hi All!! I have been very busy lately. No time to post. Well, I still have a flipped port. I can't get in to have it fixed before Dr. K goes to Africa, so I have to wait until JULY 23rd!! I am so disapointed. I haven't lost a pound in about 3 weeks! He did say that he would try doing the port revision under a local. Yay me! I am, however, bringing my sister along with me, just incase they have to revert to a standard anthestetic. Not much else going on... Keep on keepin' on!
19. I have the price list, but it's in my car. I'll get back to you tomorrow.
20. Hi all!! Wow! I've learned my lesson. You take a few days off from the forum and geesh is there a lot to catch up on when you return!! No progress on my port flip. I got back to the office on Friday and called Dr. K's office to see how I should schedule this port revision. I asked marilyn if I could have it done under a local anthestic so I wouldn't have to go under. She didn't know, and Dr. K is out of the office until Tuesday, so I have to wait. I'll let you know what I find out! Thanks to all of you offering me a place to stay! How sweet! We'll have to see what the Dr. says. I am hoping I can do this in one day...:Banane43:
21. Hi all! I am out of town on business, so I am sorry for not posting... Really, I'm not ignoring you. Thank you all for your help. I really have no idea what happened. I don't recall any pain or anything. I wouldn't know it was flipped had I not viewed it on the x-ray. I have a 17 month old daughter, so I may have done something to the port lifting her. My dog ( 7 lb Maltese) is always crawling on me too, so maybe he stepped on it weird. I haven't been doing any strange exercises, so who knows! That's interesting that it can be done under local in the office. I would certainly endure any noise, pain or feeling of pressure to not have to go under anthesia. As to how it happens, I don't know and I didn't ask. I really was having a bad week last week, and the flipped port was kind of the icing on the cake. I just smiled and nodded and went on my merrry way. It's not urgent and there's nothing I can do about it at the moment, so I am trying not to let it get me down... =o) I'll keep you posted when I get home. Sheila
22. I haven't even looked at the price list they gave me. Yes, you and I were told the same thing... 250.00, then 150.00 for fills after that. Well, Apparantly everyone started to come to them for fills, so they decided they had better try and make some more money off of us or something. I'll review what I have and let you know.
23. I'm near Wausau, but I grew up near Eau Claire/Menomonie. No one does the band in Eau Claire. You'll probably have to travel to the twin cites. It's a quick jaunt up I-94, so that will probably be your best bet. Plus, you can go shopping while you are there. What brings you to that part of WI? Where are you moving from?
24. That's interesting. I may have to try it!
