  1. Hey there. I had my surgery on Nov. 3, and had horrible gas pain in the shoulder, too. It's gone away and I really think the exercising and walking did it. Keeping busy helped me, too. When I went back to work (went back four days after surgery), I really didn't notice the pain at all. It was like I forgot it was there. It will get better. Hang in there.
  2. Hey there. I am so sorry you aren't getting the support you need. In my case, my husband, best friend and other family members were very suspicious of the whole procedure. I went about it my own way. I did a lot of research (my first stop was this site), and I eventually presented the information to them. My DH and others have completely changed their mind about the operation. But some of my friends still aren't supportive. TOO BAD. I didn't say it like that, but I said something to the effect of, "I think it's nice that you're so concerned about me, but I know deep in my heart this is the right decision for me." Because I honestly think they were just concerned for my welfare. But you have to do what's best for you. Best of luck.
  3. Hey guys ! Thanks so much. This has made me feel soooo much better. The good thing is that I have lost 11 pounds. Yeah !!! So I keep reminding myself of that. But I can't wait for the day I can have some refried Beans But I think I'll be good until then. A lot of it has to do with you guys !
  4. Tee hee ! Nope. Banded in Southern California. But I'm Latina, so I can't help it.
  5. You are so right. Thank you. I needed to hear that.
  6. I had surgery on Nov. 3, and I was doing ok. Tonight, I tried to sneak a bite of my mother's chile relleno, and everybody intervened and it PISSED ME OFF (even though I told everybody in advance to do just this if it came down to it). Yet, I knew it was a good thing because I guess a fried cheese-filled somewhat spicy pepper isn't the best on a stomach that underwent surgery four days ago. Anyway, I hate to admit it but I'm craving Mexican food. Rice and beans. Chile rellenos. Tacos. Chips and salsa. All with a big, icy diet coke. Please help me, guys. What can I do to stop this craving? My first fill isn't until Nov. 30. I'm sorry if I come across as a whiner. I'm just truly craving Mexican food. Thanks !
  7. Hey guys ! Thanks for all the feedback. I've got great tips here.
  8. Jack, thanks for the advice ! I'll give all of this a shot.
  9. Hi all ! I have been monitoring the site for months and finally decided to join tonight. Got my surgery on Nov. 3 in Southern California, and feel great. Except for the gas. I have terrible pain in my left shoulder. It really hurts. Here are my questions: Could this possibly be because of food or the band pushing a certain way? Or is it simply the gas they used to inflate the cavity during the surgery? And when, on average, does it go away? Thanks for any advice.
