  1. New belly button and healing belly incision. Post op day 14
  2. Pre op wt 256# size 24 BMI 42.60 Current wt 141 size 4 BMI 23.46 I get concerned about putting too much emphasis on BMI as my son who is an athlete/weight lifter is over weight on the BMI scale. Also if I gain 9 pounds I would be overweight on it also. It is a tool but should not be the only tool for measuring obesity.
  3. Doing much better. Went to surgeon Tuesday for second post op visit and all removable sutures were taken out. I can drive as I have been off pain meds since last Thursday. Am allowed to stand straight but still working on that. All the incisions pinch and pull when I try to stand straight. Starting to take short walks outside. Still have a great deal of swelling all over but that is to be expected. Surgery was 6 hours and they took off 4.5 lbs of extra skin. I have 2 incisions groin to knee inner thigh and one long one all the way around my pelvis. He said that I was on an accelerated healing time table. I originally had 6 drains but they pulled 2 at the hospital and the other 4 at my first post op visit which is about a week ahead of schedule. I only hope there are no major bumps at this this time. Thanks for asking!
  4. Before I say this ,I want to preface that you should always check with your doctor before taking anything after bariatric surgery. I bought the BariatricPal chewables and could hardly tolerate swallowing them. Checking in with the surgeon during a regular follow up appointment, I asked if there were any alternatives to these. She said I could substitute Flintsones complete chewable. Not only do are they so much less expensive, they taste okay. Been taking them ever since and it's been over 3 years and labs have always been good.
  5. Took my first shower since surgery and it felt great! Got a little lightheaded so definitely recommend having help the first time. Dear friend has a daughter in nursing school and they came over to help. Going to use her help again for the next one too.
  6. Post op day 6. No pain but still having pinching and extreme tightness and still awaiting a shower. Nothing taken for pain but planning on taking something before planned shower this afternoon. I am anticipating pain removing garment and with putting another on.
  7. Went to first post op appointment and things went greatAll drains pulled and dressings are gone except where drains werePut me in a compression garment Pain is okay but pulling drains was roughI had to order another compression Capri and should be here on Thursday When it comes I will be able to take a shower Have to have another garment to change into after shower He seems rather pleased at this time ?
  8. After two day stay I am at home on my comfy couch. Pain was pretty bad and moving in and out of bed was excruciating. I did not want to use the stronger pain med and looking back it would have made a difference. Did not sleep at all first night and second night just dozed. Will get pics on soon of before and will get photos from surgeon at my first post op visit this week.
  9. Surgery is at 7:30. Have to be at the hospital by 5 am and we are 45 min from the hospital. Not a lot of sleep tonight. Getting quite nervous but still everything is good. When I get up the nerve I will post pics.
  10. Self pay with good credit and a zero interest credit card. Not everyone is in debt and saved as they should.
  11. I am five days from plastic surgery for tummy tuck, lower body lift and vertical thigh lift. Equal part nervous and excited.
  12. I am having LBL vertical thigh lift and tummy tuck on 7/14/17. I may be your stalker for a while to see your progress. Getting half part nervous and half excited to finally get all the sagging skin removed.
  13. I was size 24 at 256 pounds. Had bypass two years ago 4/2/14. Now I am size 4 at 138 pounds. Best money I ever spent on myself!
  14. My sister came for a visit and she commented that ther is space between my thighs and calves. She said this was a sign of being model thin. I weigh 141 lbs so not model thin but still feeling so good. Also a very cute man tried to pick me up at an open air market and was very disappointed I was married. Made my day!
  15. I went on my hubby's bike for the first time. It was terrifying but I was light enough not to say no
  16. It is good to see more people posting updates. I have been on a slow and steady course and would like to loose just a few more pounds to put me at a normal BMI. I am stilled considered overweight for my height. Good luck to all of you as we approach the first year anniversary!
  17. Weird NSV ,the two rolls of fat on my back are gone! Good riddance!!
