  1. I was banded April 28th 2010. I’m very happy with the results and have great confidence in Dr. Neal and his staff. Doug
  2. I use the Magic Bullet. It is by far is the best for the money and cleaning.
  3. I look at it this way I paid for the surgery because i needed the help. The surgery came with an unlimited fill or adjustment for two years, if I don't need one for a while i'll wait untill I do need it. Ive already proved to myself that I need the assistance to keep my weight in control.
  4. I used the PM OTC for years almost nightly, about a week before my operation I quit taking any meds except my blood pressures meds. I had a few days of headaches but by my operation day the headaches had subsided. I haven’t had any sense then and I’m sleeping great. My advice is to not take them.
  5. Try "Smooth Move Tea". It usually works in a couple of hours, or it does on me.:cursing:
  6. Good luck with your fill as well. I know what you mean about no restriction, but there must be sum because I do notice that if I don’t chew well it hangs up until I get some Water to help wash it down. I have always been a fast gulp your food down eater, I do need to learn to slow down.
  7. Yeah it seemd like as soon as I could eat solid foods I started getting hungry. And there is little doubt that roasted chicken tastes better than baby food chicken.
  8. I had my surgery on 4/28/2010, I took 4 weeks off work because I work in a remote area in Alaska. My surgery went good and other than the hiccups and sneezing I really didn’t have much discomfort, a little bloating pain but not bad by any means. I didn’t want to have a fill then run off to work in case of something going wrong. (like I said I’m working in a remote area). Any way last week I started taking my meds with out crushing them and I have started taking in solid food., mostly chicken and some veggies. But now I’m getting hungry between meals and my weight loss has dropped off. I had lost 25 lbs and over the last week I have maintained that loss plus or minus a pound. I understand that I had a lot of fat built up around my stomach and that my opening is probably bigger now that the fat is gone. BUT another week before I make it back in for my first fill. I’m not really complaining, just sharing and I’m wishing my life away wanting to get the fill. On another note my clothes are a lot looser:thumbup:
  9. I have had to grind my blood pressure pills and take them mixed in my protien drink and i use a chewable vitamin
  10. I had mine on April, 28th , 2010. the cost was $16,000 in olympia wa. includes the hospital, ,anaesthesiology and two years for checkups & fills,
  11. Ahhh.., the taste and bad breath I about forgot. Sometimes I think I have hair growing on my teeth. I think amongst other things, my fuzzy teeth may be from not chewing. I have go brush my teeth again:wink2:
  12. Congrats. and Good luck. It's nice to know one can survive going back to work that quickly:thumbup:
  13. Congratulations, your stress level must have dropped off.
  14. Kelley I’m doing better today, thank you, at least no hiccups and I haven’t had the greens with my water today either. It’s allergy season and I think sneezing hurts worse than the hiccups.
  15. It’s my understanding the shoulder pain and bloating is from the gas used to expand the stomach cavity area to get the band on. I had my surgery on 4/28/2010 and still have a little shoulder pain. Actually last night it was pretty bad. But I’m not taking any pain meds. They seem to give me an intestinal cramping, so it just wasn’t worth taking any longer than the second day. BTW a heating pad on the shoulder helps with the pain.
  16. I had my surgery on the 28th and my voice has been up and down, a small discomfort but I didn’t want to talk much any way. I’m glad I was out when they put the tube in, I’d probably still be fighting them.
  17. I’m a newbie here and with my band. I enjoyed the poem. Although I’m not ready to start running this morning I was took by your poem. I got my band on 4/28.
  18. I was just banded on 4/28 but I checked greater than two weeks. I actually plan on three weeks. I work in Alaska and live in Washington state. I just want to make sure I can take the plane trip and be on some soft foods. I work in a remote area on the North Slope.
  19. Sorry this was not my first post, I was drawn to a post about the bloating. I was banded on the 28th and have gone from Chicken broth to a Beef broth today. I have lost 8 lbs sense my surgery. All in all I would say it has been an experience that so far I have not any regrets.
  20. I too was banded 4/28/2010 and feel that the bloating is significantly the worse side effect. I sometimes feel like I am having a heart attack, because gas pocket keeps going up under my heart and lungs, the heating pad works good. I was also suffering a case of constipation which I took milk of magnesia for. Once the blockage was gone the gas was not near as bad. I was feeling a little weak yesterday but today I drank a Muscle Milk protein drink and it has seemed to help. I also drank a water with Greens ( from Costco) it gave me the hiccups. So far I have lost 8 lbs
