  1. when you measure your food, how much do you eat at a time?
  2. Has anyone ever had a skin reaction after having a fill? It seems like everytime I get a fill whether its in the office or under floroscope I get what looks and feel like a bee sting. It comes up as a red bump and burns and itches, kind of like a sting......Has anyone else had this happen or anything similar?
  3. How long before I eat do I stop drinking? After I eat how long before I can starting drinking? trying to brush up on my band rules....thanks!
  4. How long do I wait after fill before I can eat or drink? cant remember......
  5. Wow, some of these stories are scary. I guess you can say that Im not a success story. I had surgery in Oct 2006, and lost around 30 or so lbs. I kept PBing until the dr sent me to therepy and the therepist thought I might be developing some signs of bulima, which I was because I was constantly overeating and getting sick, knowing better but did it anyway. So...the dr took all my Fluid out until I could get a handle on my food issues. 6 months later I went back in and had gained all of my weight back except for about 6 lbs, and he put 1/2cc in my 4cc band. Thought I was gonna do good this time, but just as soon as I got out of the dr office I got some devastating news about my daughter and even tough I got the fill I can still eat about anything in any amount. Stress/Depression totally rules my emotional eating. I go this afternoon the see the dr again, its been 6 weeks since my fill and I have gained a few more pounds. Actually I weigh 4 lbs more today than I did the day of my surgery. I am hoping he will give me another fill today, so that I can have some restriction anyway, and hopefully get back on track. Im so sick of feeling bad about my self, my kids and husband deserve better and dang it so do I!!!!!! I refuse to think the band is the reason for my failure, every regained pound I have is from me eating the wrong foods, SUGAR, and overeating. Im just gonna try to find something inside of myself to push on, because I know I deserve better. I dont want to be stick skinny I just want to feel better about myself, and not be afraid to be seen in public. I dont know if anyone has had the same experience as me but oh well..pray for my appt this afternoon....... Whatever any of you do, DONT HAVE GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERY!!!! My sister in law is 40 yrs old and had it 5 yrs ago and has been in and out of the hospital for 2 yrs from malnutrition, her body just wont absorb anything.

  7. Just because some of us are not doing too good doesn't mean you cant. Dont get discouraged like I did. You fight like he.. and overcome any addictions you may have to food. The band works if you do the work. It's really hard but I would hate to see someone get in the shape I have been in. The best advice I can give you is....journal your butt off, especially your calories and stay on top off it. It will work!!! You CAN do this!!!
  8. Ive thought about that all day but those ER people dont know anything about the band...I dont know what to do? Our ER is terrible...the wait will be like 8 hours or more.....
  9. Waiting all weekend without knowing something is going to drive me nuts. On top of the discomfort I feel so weak and fatigued. I havent done anything all day except lay on the couch. Everytime I get up to do something I get so winded...this just started yesterday too......Im really scared!
  10. I got up yesterday morning with a very sore port site. It feels like the day after youve been hit in the stomach. It hurts when I put any kind of pressure on it. It also kind of feels like I have pulled a muscle. This is the wierdest thing, and it truly scares me because its nothing I have experienced before. I guess in the back of my mind Im wondering if I have hurt myself, because I have been doing a lot of overeating lately????? Help, what could this be......slippage, erosion, flipped port.....those are all the things I have read about.....what do Ya'll think?

I would love to have an answer to this burning question. When I am successful its because I leave it completely out of my diet and when Im failing its because Ive let it back in. This is my experience, it may be different for others.
  12. what flavors do they have and which is your fav?
  13. Has anyone tried the "Melt It Off" program with Mitch Gaylord? 3daymelt.com It looks really good.

  17. I too thought this might just be for gastic bypass patients but after reading from their webpage I think this might be a good tool for those of us who have gone off our plan to give us a new jumpstart??? What do ya'll think?
  18. Dont even think about it. Believe me when I say its not worth it. I have had many rugs pulled out from under me, its just not worth it. Find it in yourself to recommit. Dont turn out like me and gain what you have lost. It will only make things worse not better. Find another way to Resolve your hurt feelings!!!!
  19. I havent posted in a very long time. Mostly because I finally realized that I have failed and need to go public in order to find my way back. I thought when I had the Lapband that I would be happy and all my problems would magically go away. But after gaining a little weight and not losing any for over a year, I finally admitted to myself that there might be a problem. I had an appt. to see my doc in Sept, Oct, Dec, Jan. and then finally in December I decided to go and face the music. I had gained 5 lbs since he last saw me. I was expecting him to let me have it...etc.... He was very sweet but very matter of fact...He suggested I try some therepy, that I could possibly have an eating disorder. I agreed to go to therepy believing full well that it wasnt gonna work. I would just be spending more money for the same result...which was "no results" After 2 hour long sessions I started to feel like this might help me in time but it wasnt gonna be easy. I discovered that I truly do have some traits as a bulimic. I do obsess over my weight and it does consume my life completely and I do overeat a lot and throw up a lot. Not intentional throwing up, but with the band, if you keep feeding it you will PB or vomit. Anyway its gonna take some time but hopefully I am on the right path. I didnt realize how much crap I had been hanging on to from childhood to the present. Also, I didnt realize that I felt so bad about my self. So, one day one session at a time I hope that I can get a hold of myself and finally get some of this weight off. I am starting to have medical issues again, so I have to make this work. Just keep me in your thoughts and prayers and if anyone has any advise on starting over...etc...I really need it. Thanks for listening. Have a blessed day!!
  20. Im glad to see a couple of people from my area on here. I was banded by Dr Britt in Albertville. He's great!!
  21. I am considering removal, but Im wondering how much some of you have paid. I am a self pay. Thanks!!
  22. I am considering having my band removed. I was banded a year ago this past October. I lost weight in the very beginning which was totally because of the liquid diet. Its been so long since I lost, I cant even remember. Since September I have put on 10 lbs. I am roughly 15 lbs away from being the same weight I was the day of my surgery. I cant eat in the mornings it makes me sick at my stomach. If I do get to eat something before 2:00pm it feels like I swallowed glass. Im tired of the pain, Im tired on the constant vomiting. My family is disgusted with me carrying around a cup to puke in. I just feel like I have made a hue mistake. I never delt with my overeating before having this surgery. Now, all I can eat is junk food. I am craving normal food so bad. I just want to be normal again. I feel like Im some kind of freak. I thought this would make me feel better about myself but its the complete opposite, I feel worse. I have to take several medications, which Im having to crush and mix with juice to get them down, I cant tell you how sickening that is. I am so ready to give up. But on the other hand, I have no control over my overeating. If I do have the band removed, After not having solid foods for so long, I'll probably go crazy and eat everything in sight. I dont know why I make myself feel like such a failure with this one issue. Its like theres a monster inside of me that no one can see but me. Is that weird or what.......LOL Anyway.......To Band Or Not To Band..that is the question??????
  23. Does anyone know where I can get liquid supplements? Aside from Multi vitamins. I need Folic Acid, Biotin, etc?????
  24. I get my papaya enzymes (chewables) at Walmart. They are very inexpensive and work great. I take these several times a day. After you have gotten stuck you'll never want it to happen again. They tastae great too.
  25. Thanks, Ive looked everywhere.
