  1. I had surgery June 30th. Now that the swelling is down, I can really feel my port under my skin. That's not a huge deal, but to me it feels like the port is turned sideways. If I put my finger in my belly button and press to the side, I feel the wide flat side where the injection goes. I guess if it stays like that, it would be fine...but I'm SOOO worried it's going to completely flip around! I am like obsessing over it. Any words of wisdom? Thanks
  2. Okay, okay...so I know all about "bandster hell"...but this is so frustrating! I was banded June 30th, and have had NO restriction at all. I feel like I am eating normally and probably much more than I should be. I'm starting to freak out!! My first fill is tomorrow, but I'm so embarrassed that I haven't lost any weight... Advice? Words of wisdom?

    I've lost NO weight.

THANK YOU girls! I feel better already
  4. Ok, I can totally relate!! I was banded on June 30th, and today is SUPPOSED to be my first day of "soft" foods...but I have been having a bite of things here and there. I feel so terrible about myself. It's so hard with no restriction!! I feel like I have no self control. CANNOT wait for those fills!! I think we have to just make up our minds to start fresh and not beat ourselves up about it. Today is a new day!
  5. I was banded on June 30th...and haven't really lost any weight. I don't have a lot of restriction, and I understand "bandster hell"...but...shouldn't being on a liquid diet produce SOME results?? Frustrating...
  6. I am on Week 2 of my post-op full liquid diet and have been doing pretty well sticking to it. However, last night I ordered broccoli cheddar soup at Panera, and it was the most I had eaten since surgery - not to mention it had little bits of broccoli in it. I tried to avoid them, but I'm sure some went down. I felt so guilty! But, mostly I felt worried that I had eaten too much. How easy is it to actually stretch your stomach? I really don't have much restriction, as far as I can tell...especially this week after the swelling has gone down after surgery.
  7. Hi all! Hope everyone had a nice weekend...I did, until I woke up this morning realizing this is it, this is the week!! I'm being banded on Wednesday. This whole morning I've been nauseous and a nervous wreck. HELP!! I can't live like this for 2 more days... Any advice??
  8. Hi! My surgery is a week from today! Woo hoo! Still working on getting all my pre-op done, which is stressful. Endoscopy is tomorrow...EKG later today. I'm rushed because there was a cancellation for next week and I took it! I'm wondering if there are any 20-somethings (I'm 26) that would like to stay in touch as email buddies for support, etc? I live in the Thousand Oaks, CA area, so even if you aren't a "20-something", but live in the area, let me know! I haven't been able to find a local support group, so I'd like to hear from some locals on that. Thanks everybody! Wish me LUCK! amy
  9. Just wondering...what do they ask, and what do they want to hear??
  10. PBing...it sounds a little intimidating! I'm still in the decision making process of whether to get the band...but I just wonder, how often does it really happen, and can it be prevented? Thanks!!
  11. Just wondering which doctor you had and what your feedback is. I am attending a seminar there on the 10th, and wondered if there was a doctor in particular I should try to set up an appointment with. Thank you!!
  12. Hi all, how did you make your final decision to go ahead with the Lap Band? I started looking into last week, already have seminars and consultations set up, and feel like things are moving a little fast for me! It's a big decision. Thanks!!
  13. I have Blue Shield of CA. Wondering if I will be required to have a medically supervised diet for 6-months? Does anyone from Southern CA have any input on this? Thanks!
